There is a catch to logging in on Netflix right now. If you have never actually logged into Netflix and only been logged into your PSN on the PS3 you will likely not be able to get into Netflix. If you have logged into Netflix using your Netflix username and login while on the PS3 you will most likely be able to get in. That is how it seems from the people I have talked to.

This. After the info is saved on your PS3 it relies on your internet, not your PSN. If you haven't signed up, you need PSN for registration i believe.
You could also just use Netflix via your comp or Wii, if you have one. Beats the hell out of needing to pay for Xbox Live in order to use Netflix on the 360.
I wonder if they will ever say the cause beyond external intrusion. I hate that, if the rumors are to be believed, because people with hacked systems were stealing stuff from the psn...
Not likely the hacked systems have anything to do with it. It's more likely the people who supported the PS3 hacker that decided the best way of fighting back was attacking PSN. Which is pretty stupid, considering all it really does is inconvenience everyone else from being able to play online. Not to mention, it's a stupid idea all around. Especially if it's to support some nitwit that thinks he can act like a troll in real life and expect nothing to happen (fleeing the country doesn't help, either).
I'm pretty annoyed with the downtime, but I think that it's understandable. From what I understand, Sony is reinforcing the PSN so that this can't happen again.
Really, the only thing that this is preventing me from doing is syncing my trophies and playing Co-op with Portal 2. And I'm still on the story, so I haven't played Co-op yet.

Yeah it was a bummer at first, but its giving me time to catch up on things around the house. And that makes the wife happy!
I still watch netflix. I just keep logging in untill it lets me through.
As far as the hackers they should be ashamed of themselves for being so purely selfish. Meanwhile my 11 year old suffers cause of some freaking jerk.
