Re: 2011 E3 - What would make your E3 a good one?

It would have been nice if they had actually done a quality Ocarina of Time remake instead of just throwing together some Dreamcast graphics for it. This isn't a third party developer we're talking about. This is Nintendo. This is their hardware. They should have tried their best to fully utilize its power for their Ocarina of Time remake. If this is the kind of care we can expect from Nintendo in this generation, then I'm not too optimistic about their other 3DS games, remake or not.

Oh, trust me, I also think that OOT 3D is very underwhelming in the graphics department. It doesn't look too much different from the N64 version, and that's sad. Not what I expected from Nintendo. Zelda games always really show off the graphics of their console. I mean look at Twilight Princess on the GCN.

I'm happy that I will have a portable OOT, but I was really hoping they would do more with it graphically. I've also heard that they haven't changed the music at all. I own the OOT soundtrack.

So yes, OOT 3D is very underwhelming itself. However, it's the first full 3D Zelda adventure on a handheld. I'm hoping that the real Zelda 3DS games delivers better.

However, I would be able to tolerate them if any of the games were worth playing beyond a couple of minutes every six months. They aren't.

No offense, but speak for yourself. hmm

Well Ocarina of Time is really just a port, although a port of the Master Quest version, and not a remake. The only thing being remade is the Water Temple. Most ports of older games do not look different than the original game, such as Chrono Trigger.

They did say that the graphics would be updated and I do agree that it is underwhelming if they have been updated at all. I am guessing that the only thing being updated is that they are making it capable of 3D and that is it. I do hope though that the game does if fact have updated graphics as it would definitely help the experience.

Bayonetta 2 is another game that would make my E3. I want that to continue. Actually a lot of stuff that would make my E3 would be sequels to new series too, lol and of course NGP getting popular franchises and new ips.

@Ninja_Shinigami_Mage I can assure you I'm far from the only one that feels that way.

@canine224 It actually has a good amount of graphical improvement. Link's models are drastically improved, and there is definitely a bit of graphical improvement in other areas. However, it's very underwhelming considering what they could have done with it. I'm 100% sure they could have made significant graphical improvements while maintaining OOT's style. However, Nintendo took the lazy road. Which is definitely safe for them considering how renowned OOT is.

I just can't shake off the feeling of how weird the graphics in it really look. Some things look improved while others look like they were ported straight from the N64 version, and it creates a lot of inconsistency in the graphics, which is not a good thing, of course.

Oh, I guess I probably need to see more as from what I have seen it has not looked that way, although in that game's case I have not been following too closely due to other news keeping me busy.

From the way you make it sound I can see how it could look weird. I know when I did get my hands on the 3DS Super Street Fighter IV it felt strange since all of the stage animation from the home console versions, such as people moving in the background, is gone.

@Radiant: I understand that perfectly.

Just stating that I disagree with that notion.....completely.

Eh. Gimmicky as it is, I think it's underrated as a whole.

Not saying the whole library is a winner or anything [in fact, a few are just ridiculous], but I've found more than a slight handful to be greatly enjoyable and I have more fun than on games from the other two.
