Re: Roku support?

I think what frustrates/surprises me the most is we had a few teaser images two weeks ago...and then nothing. We have multiple people here in this thread asking for a simply update and still nothing. Surly someone from FUNi has seen this thread and it's 80+ posts, yet still no answer.

Well, I investigated Neon Alley a bit further and they are not a VOD service. Rather, they are an online channel of sorts (for the PS3) that has pre-determined programming on all day. Anime, live-action, etc. There are commercials, but for $6.99, that's not too bad. Knowing this, the wait for Roku is that much harder now that there is another potentially viable option coming to the market.

All I want is an update, if anyone is listening.

EDIT: this is the 3rd Most Viewed thread in FUNimation Central smile

Float Left Interactive posted an update in the Roku Support Forum:

"Update - FUNimation channel is currently in QA and will be released soon!"

Thanks! So it's posted on the Roku forums, but no update from FUNimation themselves? Sigh...at least we have some news finally :D

Re: Roku support?

I went and downloaded another Roku app from the developer that is making the Funimation Roku app (Float Left Interactive) just to see some of their work and it was quite quite functional and quick. It was the popcornflix app.

Re: Roku support?

Thankfully they chose to emulate same interface as Netflix and other popular channels. If the channel is in QA with Roku, I can't imagine they have A LOT of channels waiting to be approved. And judging by the "teasers" FUNi released a couple weeks ago, the channel looks like it's almost ready to go. Fingers crossed for a release next week (week of August 26th). I can almost *taste* the release tongue

Re: Roku support?

I keep checking the news here on the site and/or the "New" section of the Roku Channel Store, and keep being disappointed. crying

I guess there is one way to get the app to be released: If I cancel my Elite membership, obviously it would be released the next day. tongue
