I will get this app on my Roku. What I really want is to stream One Piece. I was thinking of getting Hulu+ in addition to my netflix. Anyways sorry if this has been addressed but will the streaming on FUNimation's Roku app be free? That would be awesome and I'm fine with watching 3 commercials through the course of the streaming, that actually makes me happy to get a commercial since that helps pay for the streaming service and I like doing everything as legally as possible.
But don 't worry I still plan to buy DVDs of the series I watch too. I want to buy School Rumble, Kenichi, and Initial D still but I'm focused more on One Piece.
I notice the Funimation e-mail I received about an hour ago stated "FUNimation Roku app coming this month", which I take as an indication it is going to miss the original "early August" deadline (given that we pass the mid-point of the month mid-day tomorrow).
Well hopefully they won't delay it again like they did from late July/early August to mid August....Although like you say they technically still have until 12:00 central time (noon) on the 16th to still hit that release time. Come on Funi, restore some of my faith in you that has fallen with the mythical nature of the "update" that will fix all the Web site's problems that has been alluded to for months...and months.
Well another day and no Roku, I guess I'm just hoping by end of the week now....
I dropped Anime Network because of their unreliability (VoD, online, etc), and because there was no Roku App. I had hopes for Funimation, but it seems that may have been in vain. Funi needs to update its subscribers about the app or else risk losing them (and me). The availability of all all of these shows for free online (legal or not) is making it less and less appealing to pay for them.
I, personally, find it distasteful to bootleg or pirate anime (or any other media), but I also find the Anime provider's lack of concern for their subscribers just as distasteful. Funi promised a Roku app (with a timeline. no less), but has not delivered. Worse, they don't even keep us up-to-date on its progress.
It is hard to remain loyal when your provider doesn't remain loyal to you.
I will give Funimation a little bit more time to convince me to stay, but they need to hurry.

Well, another week and still no Roku app. More updates would be nice, especially if they are going to "tease" and then give us nothing. Still waiting to subscribe...just need the app.
I hadn't seen on it obviously. Not really on tumblr. It was really couldn't sign up till recently.
My favorite anime: Sailor Moon, Slayers, Tenchi, FMP, Dual, Beck, Lupin III, El Hazard, Hellsing, and more. http://www.freewebs.com/supermutant//

Like others have said, the moment this app is released I will be signing up for an elite membership.
