Re: Roku support?

I'm not sure but I think I remember someone from Funimation mentioning on ANNCast that they were working to support devices later on so apps are coming sooner rather than later probably. The 2 that will probably be supported immediately will be iOS and Android, followed by Roku, Boxee and anything else that might be out there. PS3 and Xbox 360 seem to be hard to get content on, since Crunchyroll seems to have been trying to get their content on there for a long time, but with the recent Xbox 360 update things might change for that console. Personally I'm hoping for an Android app, I have an Android phone and I'm planning on getting a Logitech Revue with Google TV then I'll sign up for the service but until then I'll just save my money for DVD/BDs. tongue

Here's a link to the podcast I heard the news on, but like I said I don't really remember what they said exactly so you can listen for yourself.

Re: Roku support?

Thanks for the link. Lets up it is indeed sooner rather than later. I am just itching to subscribe to Elite :D

Re: Roku support?

I would absolutely get an elite account if there was a Roku channel. I like crunchyroll ok, but I'm more a fan of the funimation dubs.

Re: Roku support?

I just purchased a Roku and saw there are a few anime channels on there. Anyway, I decided to add my voice to others and request that Funimation add their channel to Roku. I signed up for the free Hulu plus trial mainly to finish watching an anime on my tv. I'd much prefer watching Funi's line-up. Given all the fans of Funimation, you will have ready-made subscribers. We hope to hear from you!

Re: Roku support?

Another vote for Funimation Elite on Roku.

Although I currently have an Elite subscription, having all the series available on my Roku would certainly make them much more accessible, and therefore would make it much more likely I would continue that subscription.

Thank you for the post. I have my money ready and waiting to subscribe, but I'm waiting for the Roku Channel. I'm tired of watching video on y computer, on a 19" screen. Would much rather enjoy watching anime on my TV with proper sound, plus it's more comfortable to sit on the couch wink

Hoping FUNimation announces something SOON...

I asked them about this on tonight's Live Q&A videocast. You can watch their answer here:

Basically they said the mobile app is coming "very soon". Then the tablet app "won't be too far behind" since it's similar. After that they'll look at the Roku and game consoles.

Sounds like a bit of a wait until there's a Roku channel. But until then, I'm looking forward to the upcoming iPad app.

In addition to the Roku, I have an AppleTV. And I've been using the AirPlay feature to stream Anime Network's iPad app to my TV. It works amazingly well with no wire hookups. Just push a button on my iPad and it streams through the home wifi network to the AppleTV box. I can't wait to try it on the Funimation app.

Thanks for the link. Hopefully they'll be releasing the Roku channel sometime before/within this Spring. Also... **grumbles something incoherently about you winning a prize** congrats on winning a prize! **I've only been asking about this for months!** tongue

Re: Roku support?

I tried the Elite subscription, but canceled it because of the limitation of only watching it on my PC - Roku seems like it should be pretty easy to implement and iOS or Android would be nice too - for $8 you get all of Netflix content with apps on all 3 platforms - Funimation needs to compete better.
