Yeah, that's rough. I've never had any problems to that extent and I got my roku off of ebay. On another note, I've noticed two new channels added to the roku store today neither of which was funimation I'm starting to feel like the funimation roku app is like some mythical creature that you hear about and see pictures of but that you never actually get to see first hand.......
Same here... just when is it coming? They already said it was supposed to be out last month and STILL there is nothing on the Roku Channel to confirm this. What's going on? I'm more than ready to drop Crunchyroll if only this'll happen. Come on already and get the app out! I want it! I'll gladly get an Elite subscription for Funimation if it'll come to my Roku. What's going on?
FUNimation is lucky my new PC case arrived today and I have a full swap to do...otherwise I'd be pissed that there's still no Roku channel. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
The silence is killing me...SAY SOMETHING. A revised launch window, current status of the app, reason for the delay, ANYTHING! Did they forget about it? Don't they check these forums?
They either don't check the forums or don't care it seems. Their soon has proved to be the equivalent of someone who is 6 weeks pregnant saying that they are "going to have a baby soon".
I am new here, but I have been following this thread closely for about 2 weeks now because I had decided I wanted to get rid of cable - it's overpriced, I’m sick of commercials, and there’s never anything worth watching - so I was looking for alternatives. Lo and behold, I do some research and find what seems to be a great thing called a Roku out there, allowing people to watch streamed content for a quarter of my cable bill. Wonderful! I am fine paying to subscribe to the channels I want. If cable offered something like that, I might have stayed with them; but that’s something else all together. Back to my question - seeing as how I am newly cable free, I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight as to what comes with a funimation elite subscription, and how funimation differs from crunchyroll?
Seeing as how I am now a Roku user, I want to go with the best anime experience, and I understand CR already has a Roku channel, but I am willing to wait a reasonable amount of time (around 2 weeks) for Funimation to come out with their channel if it means I will get better anime. Does that make sense? I guess my other question is - will the wait be worth it?
Sorry if I rambled or confused anyone. I tend do do that alot...

The major difference is FUNimation offers dubbing, while Crunchyroll is strictly subtitled (last I checked). Having not been an Elite subscriber yet, i don't feel comfortable comparing the two...just waiting for FUNimation to release the Roku app so I can subscribe

I think the main comparison between Crunchyroll and Funimation is their differing selections of anime. Both of the companies get certain simulcasts so you typically won't see one company's show on the other's service and vice-versa. Funimation does indeed offer some, if not most shows, with dubbing, while Crunchyroll is almost exclusively subbed releases. Crunchyroll has a much greater simulcast selection while Funimation has a huge library of archived titles as well as a few simulcasts.
To me, this isn't a matter of what's better or worse, but a matter of how much selection and variety you want to have. A Crunchyroll Anime Only Premium membership is like $7/mo and FUNimation's elite membership is around $10/mo. Personally, I'm willing to spend just under $20 on a wider array of anime, but if you had to pick one, it's up to you of what type of anime you value more. Go to both sites and check out their catalog of anime and see what appeals to you.
I agree with the above poster. I am a roku user and a subscriber to both Crunchyroll as well as Funimation. They have a very different selection of titles so for me it's worth it to have both although I don't use Funimation at the moment since their app is still not out. I will say that I really like CR though and they always have a large selection of simulcasts which I would definitely think makes sub worth it even if you only watch some of those. Hope that helped a bit. If you have any other questions either post or feel free to pm me and I will answer any questions for you.

I hear ya. I wouldn't mind but I've been keeping my elite subscription and not using it because I assumed soon meant, well soon lol

Maybe we need to get a Philosopher's Stone to make this happen.
