Re: Prices

So, newer releases don't get the Got Anime discount, but older stock stuff do during a sale?

SOME of the older stock series get put on sale, such as the majority of the S.A.V.E. titles...

HOWEVER, a lot of the shows that were put in price-reduced complete collections before S.A.V.E. came into existence are already marked down as low as they possibly can be.

Take for instance the complete collection of Ah! My Goddess season 2:

http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/HB5e4uuutoBRuQGKAJ/browse/item/87116/4/0/0

The Viridian collection is actually much cheaper than the S.A.V.E. edition, even during sales. That's because they only have a small number of copies left, and they want to get rid of them as soon as possible, without taking a financial loss on them at the same time.

When it comes to FUNi products, these kinds are literally the ONLY types of items you'll never see on sale. Simply because the company selling them (in this case RightStuf) can't afford to take any more of a loss on them.

See? Stick with ol' Spacey here (or you can call me Doctah RyteStuff if you wish) and you'll never have to worry about paying too much for Annie-May ever again!! -_^ wink (^_-)b

• When they are first posted up on the site, they are usually introduced at sale price.

Technically, they are just put in the weekly specials. They just happen to stay in there for several weeks.

• Every few months or so, RightStuf will put all their FUNimation or Sentai titles on sale.

About every 4 months to be precise.

• Even when they're not having a sale, RightStuf will occasionally hand select a few titles for their weekly specials which happen every Thursday. This too will lower it back down to the 40% discount, but again, you usually can't use your membership or coupons.

Further more, the title in question can also be listed as a Daily Deal. Most Daily Deals are set to 40% off and they are also eligible for GA discount.

Re: Prices

Btw the original point of this article wasn't to complain about the price, I just wanted to understand how pricing works on sites like righstuf. Buy.com almost always has the %40 off price with -$1, the only purpose for rightstuf is to get things early for me. Not to mention as California has it's online tax back up again it's almost always better to preorder rightstuf on economy shipping and for some reason economy only takes 3-5 days from rightstuf for me lol... I feel bad that I wasted a lot of money before on USPS priority or UPS. UPS always takes 5 days ... it's sucks my hellsing ultimate 5-8 is stuck on UPS (can't switch it without moving down the priority list).
