Why do re-releases? I don't see a major reason for that.
Because it's been 1-2 years since the original release, and it's OOP. By the time Amazon is out of stock of a limited edition, the reprints are about to come out. Yes, they could be like Viz and just keep the 13 episode parts and force people to get the parts, instead of waiting for a full collection.

So it's basically like a last chance moment for fans to get it and some easy revenue for Funimation or any company in the same position?

Well in the case of FT it is a collection instead of separate parts, so in essence it isn't technically a "re-release." And I don't get why people would be upset that they are releasing it in collections. It's basically a two cour set right? I can't think of many one time releases (of 4 cour length) in R1 of the type that people are upset they aren't doing ( DVD/BD combo.) In that case maybe they should just wait and release it with the next ones their dubbing now in a 25 disc set like the Tenchi Muyo 10th anniversary boxset.... I'm just saying there has to be a reasonable amount they split it up into and 2 cour is pretty much the accepted amount right?

Pretty much. It's just companies aiming to get money from every possible buyer. They get the most revenue from people that really really want the show and can afford the initial, higher-priced release with fewer eps, and they lower the prices but up the ep counts (if it's longer than 1 cour) to entice the rest of the market to bite for these re-releases.
Re: FUNimation New Title Solicitations (April '13)
That makes sense. Thanks for the info. And thanks to Raven too.

What I don't get is why the hell Funimation is putting out the Fairy Tail collection so soon...I mean, only a year later and they're already putting it out. I think it should've been at least 2 (wasn't that the wait on the FMA:BH parts turning into 2 collections?)

eesh, not a thing for 2013 for me either.
@ Vata It took them a while to dub a few shows, plus they still are with holding a few OVAs/seasons as well from a number of series. All of them where from the merger mess.

I remember a con report mentioning FT was a huge success for FUNi; it may be that they've already sold through enough units to justify a repackaging/reprinting and new release.
Re: FUNimation New Title Solicitations (April '13)
Anyone have any idea when the dubs that where put on hold due to the merge mess will be released? A few bits of info said most of them where to be released spring of 2013. There where a lot of series that where affected seasons and OVAs. I forget all of the series that where affected. Is there away to get an updated list on when those dubs could be released? OPN posted a few twitter posts on them back in Sept/Oct, but other than those its been off the radar as to say. I'm just wondering that's all.
