True, and if memory serves Degrassi was a gigantic FAILURE for Funi, as was Brace Face & I don't think Tony Hawks Boom BOMM HUK Jam or what ever sold very well either.
Overall I can see why they did it, may bring some easy money for some cheap anime licenses, but overall, pretty sure this won't do much better then Degrassi did. But thats just me.

Yeah I don't see this being a overall popular sereis. Might have been better to find a series more fans were asking for. But this is what we get so have to see what comes of it
Re: Funimation Acquires Lost Girl Live Action Series
I would also like to note, i'm fine with Funimation trying to branch out into other things, but yeah... wouldn't it make more sense to branch out into maybe getting some popular U.S. toons. I mean the name Funimation is a mixture of the words FUN & ANIMATION. And quite frankly, this title doesn't meet either, I mean at least those cheesy LA Kung-Fu Flicks can be fun to watch. As for this, I saw the first 3-4 episodes when it premiered, wasn't really impressed. Its not horrid mind you, but well, just kind of another Buffy/Brothers Grimm/ Supernatural rip-off.
But yeah if Funimaton really wants to make some easy money, they should just talk to Hasbro & Shout Factory about getting the rights to do season sets of MLP, the Bronies & Pegasisters would be all over that, lol *shot repeatedly*
Or on a more serious note, Wonder years is good live action show that needs a DVD release in the states.
...But i'm rambling so I digress. I personally don't see this doing very well, but if it does, good for it, Funi can use the money to acquire & dub more anime.
Re: Funimation Acquires Lost Girl Live Action Series
I actually have watched this series since its premiere. It actually isn't too bad. Plot is a bit cliche but I do like the characters, especially the younger gal that joins Bo. She is hilarious, which is why I watch the show to be honest. If you take her out of the equation, I probably wouldn't have been as interested and skipped out on watching it. I'd say give it a shot before you overlook it. Now another show, Being Human, got progressively worse in my opinion. With Lost Girl, it starts out slow and the episodes not as serious, later on, it does get to be good. So, there you have my two cents worth.

I have no idea how big the market for this is, hopefully it'll make Funi some money but in the long run I hope they never change focus away from their anime releases.

Locomotion
animation, young adults, digital era

I reject your reality and replace it with my own.

lol, when I read this on the front page I was like huh? Never heard of this show
If FUNi thinks they can make some scratch with this then more power to them. It's a business after all.
