Seriously, Funi dubs have started to come out of hand, all because of Funi using an entirely different cast for Shana season 2 & beyond as oppose to outsource the dub to the same cast (and possibly re-dub season 1), The dub of S1 was good enough so what's the point in trying to make an entirely different cast if they could just outsource it. The problem is with Funi dubs is that they only just dub it in-house with the same people over & over & over again, rather than outsourcing some of their dubs to different companies.

I honestly don't think they're actually going to re-dub all of season 1 of Shana. At least I hope they don't. The first one is perfectly fine, and re-dubbing it would cost a lot of money that they really don't need to be spending.
I see some people on this board shouting out "Consistency! Consistency!", but is it REALLY worth all the extra time, money, and effort just to make the voices match up? It's not like FUNi went back and re-dubbed all of Trigun when they had to make cast changes to Badlands Rumble. And I haven't heard anything of them redubbing the Fafner movie either, despite them giving it a completely new cast.
I can KINDA understand why they're dubbing Shana seasons 2, 3, and the movie in-house though. That's a lot of episodes, and would really add up if they were to outsource them. I don't LIKE it, for sure, but in Shana's case, I can grit my teeth and "deal with it."
What I AM very worried about, however, is them not getting the original cast back for the Black Lagoon OVAs. Unlike Shana's case where it's a lot of new episodes, Roberta's Blood Trail only has five. They could afford to outsource that, at least.
The Black Lagoon dub is one of my favorite dubs ever, and in my personal belief is the 5th greatest English dub of all time. If they change the dub cast for OVAs, I will be mad.
If they go back and actually re-dub over the first and second seasons, I will be F***KING LIVID.

You WISH you were this awesome.
@SpaceManhardy Why not we just boycott them, which we will not buy their products until they change their minds about the cast of Shana season 2 & beyond.

Because that narrow-minded approach does nothing more than screw things up due to outrageous and unrealistic demand and could very well lead to the license being nixed altogether. No offense.
As for season 1....it's simply stupid to make that kind of decision. If you're going to go for a full series release, it's perfectly understandable to take that kind of measure instead of...among other things, greatly confusing newcomers to the series. And also, the circumstances are not the same with Trigun.
And believe me....the time is not a factor and the cost will also be very minimalistic compared to the outsourcing.
There is simply no good reason for them to leave the first season as an 'oddball.'
You speak for yourself. There's no way in hell I'm going to deprive myself of Hellsing: Ultimate when it comes out. I may be mad, but I'm not STUPID.
You WISH you were this awesome.

Why, what does all of that mean?

Right.... Nevermind all the original fans who grew up watching the original dub and are accustomed to hearing THOSE voices.
Because they TOTALLY don't matter, right?
You WISH you were this awesome.
It still exists for them to listen to....there was never a callback to my recollection.
By all rights, this is a whole new release [and the first of an entire series release] of a product that was released once quite a while ago under a different owner. [negating any and all necessity for it]
So, in the end, I do feel more than a few people are being quite selfish in not being able to handle a little change for a different release despite making more sense.
Watch the Japanese audio. Problem solved. You even get Rie Kugimiya as a bonus.
Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you.
As long as you remember Her, you are not alone.
Logical advice...at least if you don't almost universally prefer dubs as I do. [I don't think I've ever encountered a Japanese soundtrack I've liked more...unless it was a 4Kids dub]
@Ninja_Shinigami_Mage: It's best if Funi to bring back the same cast for Shana season 2 & beyond. If Funi could use the same cast from Hellsing Ultimate 1-4 for 5-8 but why can't it be the same with Shana. And about you saying that a few people are being quite selfish about not being able to handle a little change in cast, you're underestimating and think again.
