Yeah, I found the news on this site about the Canada show... But, that's about it. I was wondering if anyone working for Funimation knows about dates or where they might be trying to set up some of the shows.
Is it recommended than you already have finished Trigun to see the movie? Or is it like the Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, DBZ, and Yu Yu Hakusho movies where nothing that really requires watching the series to understand and risks no spoilers?

We havent seen the film, so its hard to say, judging from the trailer the anime and movie seem to be unrelated; i.e. you need not watch the anime. Granted, youre kind of a tool if you only watch the movie and not the anime. check out the anime, it's truly a great one!
Sophie, why isn't it showing here in Dallas/Fort Worth? I would think that would be the first place to get booked or are there going to be more dates listed later?
Very excited to see some new Trigun! (The original is a bona fide classic!) It would be awesome to see this on the big screen, too. I hope the second list of theaters due out in July has some more regional cities, like Omaha Spread the anime love!
This is gonna be sweet can't wait to see this movie as for watching the anime before seeing the movie it is not needed but I would highly recommend that you do so that you will be familiar with the characters and get a feel for it not to mention that it is damn good! (^-^)
The link I'm posting is to ANN and they ave several articles that can direct you to listings for Trigun Badlands Rumble http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=9499

I'm planning on finishing "Trigun" but I haven't gotten past episode 5 yet.

Just as I thought, the theater releases are nowhere near where I live.
