Dear Customer,
On, or after, March 15 2012, Funimation (channel 262) and Bridges TV (channel 278) will be removed from the FiOS TV® lineup and you will no longer be able to view this content.
This programming has been discontinued due to very low viewership and the continued effort of Verizon to offer our customers the most popular channels while keeping our rates reasonable.
We appreciate your loyalty to Verizon FiOS TV and apologize for any inconvenience.
Remember that you can access the most current local TV line-up 24 hours a day/7 days a week at verizon.com/fiostvchannels.
Thank you for choosing Verizon.
Sincerely,
Verizon

I just got that email a few minutes ago.

Guess it's not just our local FiOS that is dropping the Funimation channel but the whole blasted network.
Bummer.
This is disappointing, but to be honest, I'm really not surprised...Funimation's programming scheduling is pretty stagnant and lackluster....
I just got the eMail too. I'm sad to see that Verizon decided to drop your channel. It was the most watched thing on my TV
I'll still be able to get some stuff via Netflix, but I liked discovering new stuff on the channel.
Funimation...time to step up and express your disappointment. I don't know what your leverage is with Verizon, but without the funimation channel, there is no anime to be had on Fios.
As shattymcpants said, your programming schedule in the last year has gone to hell. I admit to skipping entire nights due to lousy series selection or repetition.
It is impossible to follow any series..the series are broken up and not predictable. You repeat the same three or four movies over and over.
I guess I'll have to see whats playing here.
WTH Is going on I got the E-Mail too >.>;;;
Is there anything that can be done...this is ridiculous. The only reason I had Verizon was because of Funimation. I can't even imagine the channel w/o it.
Is there another provider that plays Funimation.
That email ruined my day. I just had FIOS installed and i'm already losing my favorite channel.
It ruined my day too...would calling Verizon help or is this decision set in stone I just don't know...and I looked at all the other possible service providers and apparently Verizon is the only one that had Funimation available
Well, it this channel wants to increase viewership, why not they just re-start the SD feed and air the shows in the style of what Animax does (series 25 episodes or greater will air on Mondays-Fridays & series less than 25 will air on a certain day of the week, with up to 5 re-runs before getting replaced with a new series). That would be a better way to get viewers, wouldn't it?
Locomotion
animation, young adults, digital era
I called Verizon 2 hours after the e-mail had been sent out. Their representatives had no idea that the channel was going to be dropped. Way to drop the ball Verizon. I told them that unless they reversed their decision that I would be dropping the cable from my service package. The guy offered me free DVR for a year, but I said, "Thanks for offering that, but it's kinda silly to have if you drop a channel that I spend 95% of my time watching."
Yeah ruined my day to as switching to Verizon was partially due because they carried the channel... My main problem was that it was in SD quality and I find myself never going below the 500 channels because I just don't really watch anything in SD anymore. Or more that each channel that has a SD channel also usually has a HD channel for people to watch.
Maybe just me though but I wish they didn't take the channel away.
Not to mention they are taking 2 channels away and we are still paying the same amount unless they are replacing them with something I haven't heard about yet.
