FUNimation Channel VOD returns to FiOS in April

From the FUNimation Channel's Facebook page:

Quote:
ATTN Verizon FiOS TV customers: We appreciate the support and all the incredible efforts at making Verizon FiOS TV aware of your feedback and comments. We want to let you know that we will return to FiOS TV via their On Demand service in April where we will offer up to 40 hrs of titles ranging from the newest releases to fan favorite classics - from Black Butler 2 to Vandread. Some titles will also be available for free. Continue to let Verizon FiOS TV know that you still want the channel. We will announce expansion on other video systems in the coming months.
We will post more information as it becomes available.

Now if only FiOS would bring the linear channel.

Re: FUNimation Channel VOD returns to FiOS in April

Great,

Let me get this straight...so verizon removes the funimation channel and doesn't give me a rebate, but will now offer me limited funimation programming on demand and I have to pay to watch it ("Some titles will also be available for free")?
Does anyone have a guess as to how the pricing will work? By the hour or series?

It sounds like leftovers and limited series. I remember when funimation was on demand..there were only old episodes of case closed and peach girl.

I'm already subscribing to the funimation service. I'll take my chances here.

Bring back the 24/7 programming or don't do anything.

Re: FUNimation Channel VOD returns to FiOS in April

I don't have FiOS VOD. They would have to pay me to use their boxes. I only use TiVos on FiOS. I do wish they would have added VOD as an option to the Xbox 360 like Comcast is, then I would have access to it. But unless FiOS gives me an STB for free, which they have not in the 4.5+ years I've been with FiOS, I won't be able to watch FUNinmation through it. Hopefully they bring back the Liner channel(and in HD) at some point in the future.

Although in the end I ended up buying around half a dozen series on Blu-ray Disc over the last few weeks that FUNimation has released. SO they will keep me busy for a while. I just wish that all the titles were available on BD. There is one coming out shortly that will only released on DVD(Heaven's Lost Property S2), and if it's not on BD, I will not buy it.(I got the first season on BD recently, but was disappointed to find out the second season would only be on DVD)

I'm not really fond of Verizon basically shafting FUNimation and have them stuck with just VOD, especially of the choices are gonna be limited. I just recently started to build a small collection of ordering a few dvds from the FUNimation shop. My kind way of sending my money and appreciation to FUNimation while not giving a penny more to Verizon FiOS.

That and anime looks awesome in Blu-ray HD. cool
