Hulu License...

...need I say more? If that isn't clear enough then I'll put it another way. Please renew the license agreement with Hulu!

Yes, more needs to be said. All of both series are available subtitled on Hulu.

If you're referring to the dub, I think it was mentioned somewhere that FUNi cycles the dubbed versions of their shows in and out. If you want more permanent access to the dub then the season sets aren't very expensive. Otherwise, yeah, the subs are still available for free.

Re: Hulu License...

The sub versions are not available on Hulu. Sure I could either buy the dub version or watch the sub version on Funimation, however I pay for my Hulu account for the ease of centralized access to content.

Thanks for the trifles but I would prefer that Funimation renegotiate the license with Hulu.

This is one of the drawbacks of digital distribution, and something you need to come to terms with. It is FUNimation's choice whether or not to keep all of the English dub available for essentially free.

If you want greater control over how you view content, I recommend buying the BD/DVDs, which, oddly enough, if FUNi's main form of income.

Re: Hulu License...

TIL Nobu, the sub versions don't appear in the iPad app search results. Confused, I searched the Hulu website and found them listed there. Obviously not a Funimation problem.

EyeOfPain, I would gratefully buy the DVD but then I'd have to rip the video and download them to my iPad which I use because I travel frequently. Last week I could launch the Hulu iPad app, navigate to my subscriptions, and begin watching where I left off.

I know that I'm not the only Hulu user to express dismay when it was yanked. A lot of people watched the show on Hulu before it was yanked.

The Internet subscription model will eventually replace cable and satellite. Why not get on board the train sooner than later--NBC and ABC, among others, already have.

Oh the app. Well, that wasn't mentioned in the opening post.

And after all the superfluities it comes back around to my original request. Please renew the license agreement with Hulu.

Re: Hulu License...

If FUNi just pulled the dubs recently then they won't be back up that quickly. It really sucks to be watching a show dubbed and then to have the dubs disappear halfway through, but so it goes. Paying for the FUNi Elite Subscription would help, but this site's too unstable/buggy for me to pay $8/month (and I'd get a Hulu or Crunchyroll subscription first).

Looking at the Hulu pages for both shows, you SHOULD be able to watch the subs on your iPad since you have a subscription. Both pages say that by signing up for Hulu Plus the shows can be watched on a TV and on mobile devices. Try contacting Hulu and see what they say.
