I have not read the manga but I've read some spoilers, I think the way fruits basket ended was a good way to end it. but it also did make a way to start some new epiodes off. I really wish they would make new episodes though , seeing as I finished watching the entire season in less then a week and I was already heartbroken , brought me to tears /:
There's also some of the relationships to contend with. Two high school girls pursuing relationships with men many years their senior is a problem. Kureno is 8 years older than Arisa. Also, not directly stated, but implied...Saki is 17 and Kazuma is 47. Those type of relationships wouldn't fly, also, the cousin relationships....Haru and Rin, Shigure and Akito, would be frowned upon. The only relationships that would be deemed acceptable would be Kyo and Tohru and Yuki and Machi...because they're in the same age group and they're not related in any way to each other. Hatori and Mayuko are also included with the acceptable relationships.
I didn't even think of that whiteknight...ugh. Why do I get the feeling we'll soon see Fruits Basket labeled as one of those 'obscene' manga by that current Tokyo governor.
The very idea of Furuba even being in the same sentence as obscene quite frankly sickens me.
Well there is when they're naked in smoke but for it to be labeled as that would probably break my heart. I didn't think it was a very good show ender, season sequador yes, to completely end the show, not so much. I can hope, i can pray, but at the end it's all up to Akito isn't it, haha Akito of course being the mangaka in this situation
And I think with the fans of Furuba being the way they were, they wouldn't mind being bombarded with the begining of the show again. It's just the willingness of the mangaka and FUNI or whichever company picked it up, hopefully FUNI. So here's to an FMA:Brotherhood repeat for Furuba: Cheers everybody

Even if she was not really impressed in how her manga came to life, she surely must realise that animation back then was not as developed as it is today. Fruit basket is still extremely popular even though it is old, more fans are finding it and begging for a second season. There is hundreds of petitions also asking for another season. I really hope she will give another company a chance to create a second season or completely remake the first and continue it to a much longer anime.
As like people have said it really does just get better from the end of season one and would not be full of rubbish fillers.
But i guess time will tell and i do not feel this will come to pass, not anytime soon anyway which is really sad
