I got the collector's edition of this in the mail from Amazon on Thursday (Yes I know, I'm really late to the party.), and to me it looks like it was made a few years ago.
It doesn't look it's age really, and as of this year, it's ten years old. Still, definitely a good series (Just from the two episodes I saw last night.).
The animation is pretty strong, but it does show it's age a bit, it also helps that the show is low on action heavy scenes

i agree with you it dosent show its age in color design or sound quality
also it is a very very good anime love the story

It definitely is good.
Finally got around to resuming the series, and watched episodes 3-6, and man was I laughing so hard (Especially at episode 6.). The series keeps surprising me. It just still is kind of hard to believe that the anime was made 10 years ago.

Never bought one of the dvds to this series...but I always went to the library (to
get dvds and books) and I watched the series from the library...so I guess I am late to the party too!!!
Hm, It does somewhat show it's age but not like other animes made around the same time. Even though it was a low priced anime to make it really did turn out well. Looking at it my friend said noway it is that old.
So guess only us fans really know it's age hehe.
