What is a FUNimation Broadcast Dub?

FUNimation's English dub for a show that is currently airing in Japan. This means that the dub is available to watch way before the Blu-ray and DVD are out.

What are the video player controls?

The video player controls are divided up into two sets - a set that displays when you move your mouse over the player and a set that displays at the bottom of the player.

Set 1:

  • Play/Pause - Starts and stops the video playback
  • Scrub - Click any point in the scrub bar to move the Scrubber to that point in the video playback and being video playback from that timecode. You can also click and drag the scrubber to any point on the bar.
  • Mute - Turn the sound off. Click again to turn the sound on.
  • Adjust volume - Click and drag to the left to lower and to the right to raise the volume.
  • Full screen - Click to make the player take over your screen. Click again to return the player to its original size.

Set 2:

  • Previous - Selects and begins playback of previous video in the playlist/season list order and beings playback
  • Next - Selects and begins playback of next video in the playlist/season list order
  • Playlist/Season List - Displays the playlist or season list menu. Click on any video in the list to begin playback of that video in the player. Clicking again hides the list.
  • Language - Switch between available audio languages (English dub or original language with English subtitles)
  • Quality - Switch between available video qualities - Standard Definition and High Definition
  • Add video to favorites - Add the currently playing video to your favorites under Videos. If the heart icon is red, then the video is already in your favorites
  • Add show to Queue - Add the show to your Queue. If the plus icon is a minus, then the show is already in your Queue
  • Share video - Displays options to share the video on Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, and email
  • Lights on/off - Click to darken the area around the video player. Click again to brighten the area around the video player.

How often is the video streaming schedule updated?

The video streaming schedule is updated every 2-3 weeks.

What are official videos and promotional videos?

Official videos are the main content of any show. They include episodes, movies, OVAs, and specials. Promotional videos are the supplementary content for any show. They include trailers, clips, interviews, commentaries, events, and extra features.

What do I do if a video says that I must be at least 17 years of age to watch it?

The video you are trying to watch is rated TV-MA. If you are at least 17, then log into your account. If you do not have an account, please create one. If you are under 17, then per the FUNimation.com Terms of Use, you are not allowed to watch the video.

What do I do if the video player says I need to have a SubPass or an All-AccessPass?

The video you are trying to watch is only available to users with a FUNimation.com subscription. If you are already a subscriber, then please log in to your account. If you are not a subscriber, find out more here start your subscription today!

How do I report a video issue?

Please visit our support page. Fill out the form. Under "Reason for Contact", choose an option beginning with "Video" that is the best fit for the issue that you are reporting.

What do I do if I have found a subtitle error on a streaming episode or movie and I want to tell FUNimation to fix it?

If the issue is with a current season, simulcast subtitle, please send an e-mail directly to funsite-tech (a) funimation (dot) com with something like "Subtitle Error" as the subject line. The sooner you can report the issue, the better.

If it's an issue with older content subtitles, you'll actually get a better/faster response to make a ticket with the reason code "Other Video".

It's worth noting that we can guarantee assistance with objective, typographical errors such as the example you provided. If it's a translation error that's more meaning-based or subjective, it can be brought to the correct department's attention, but you likely won't receive much in the way of feedback for that-- we investigate all incorrect subtitle reports, however.

What do I do if I get a black screen where the video player should be?
