What are the differences between each Pass level?

  • FreePass - This tier is free! You get access to limited anime episodes per series with commercials. Simulcast episode access is delayed. HD access is not available. This tier does not have a subscription attached to it. You will never be charged and will not need to provide a payment method when you sign up.
  • SubPass - This paid tier is great for the sub-only fan and grants access to all subtitled episodes and movies, most of which are in HD and commercial-free! SubPass level users also get access to the latest simulcast episodes as soon as they are available and access to our Subscriber Forum.
  • All-AccessPass - This paid tier grants access to all English-dubbed and subtitled episodes and movies, most of which are in HD and commercial-free (subject to availability). All-AccessPass level users also get access to the latest simulcast episodes and FUNimation Broadcast Dub episodes as soon as they are available, exclusive video extras, exclusive FUNimation Store promotions and discounts, and access to our Subscriber Forum.

Can I change my Pass level to another Pass level?

Why do I need to set up a payment method before beginning my free trial?

We need a payment method because at the end of your free trial, your subscription term will be automatically renewed at the regular monthly rate. If you do not want to be charged, you will need to cancel your subscription before the end of your free trial. If you cancel before the end of your free trial, your subscriber status will be revoked immediately, and then you will automatically be switched back to a regular user.

What forms of payment are accepted for FUNimation's Subscription?

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Discover
  • FUNimation.com gift card
  • PayPal
If you use a FUNimation.com gift card, it will only be applied to your first term's payment. After that you will need to update your payment method. Otherwise, your subscription will suspended until you renew and update your payment method.
  • We do not accept cash, money orders, or checks.
  • We do not accept debit cards or debit gift cards.
  • Prepaid credit cards should work as long as they have a minimum of $5 when you subscribe. In order to validate your payment method, the payment processor charges $1 to the account and then immediately refunds it. If your card has no money on it, then it will be denied.

Is my payment to FUNimation.com secure?

Absolutely! We have a third-party service from McAfee perform a daily PCI test; and our order processor is independently PCI compliant and is validated on an ongoing basis.

Why am I being charged at the beginning of my free trial?

Our payment processor is only putting an authorization charge on your account. The hold amount should be $0.01 if you signed up with a credit card or the full amount for your first term if you signed up with PayPal. If you notice a different amount, please email [email protected] as soon as possible.

If you cancel before the end of your trial, you will not be charged.

If you signed up with a credit card and notice that the authorization hold is more than $0.01 (or more than the amount of your first subscription term if you signed up with PayPal) or you have more than one authorization hold, you may have clicked the Submit button more than once during checkout. As long as you only have one user name, you will not be charged more than once even if you have multiple order numbers.

Why was I charged $0.01 for the free trial?

This is only an authorization charge to test that your payment method is valid. Once your payment method has been validated, the charge will be dropped from your statement.

When is my next subscription billing date?

This information is located in your Account under Subscription > Overview. On this page, you'll be able to see your next billing date, the start date and end date of your free trial if you are within the free trial period, your subscription's end date if you have cancelled or if you are on a gift subscription, and your subscriber status. You will need to be logged in to FUNimation.com to access your account.

How do I update my payment information?

Make sure you are logged in. Click on the little arrow just above your username in the header at the top of the page. Click on "My Account" in the section that drops down after you click the arrow. Then click on the "Subscription" tab and then the "Overview" tab. Under "Payment Method", click on the link that says "Update my Payment Method" and follow the instructions.

Can I change my payment method to PayPal if I signed up and used a credit card first?

You cannot change your payment method to PayPal if you have signed up with a credit card. However, you can change to another credit card.

How do I renew my subscription account?

Make sure you are logged in. Click on the little arrow just above your username in the header at the top of the page. Click on "My Account" in the section that drops down after you click the arrow. Then click on the Subscription tab and then the Overview tab. Click on the link that says "Renew Subscription".

Who can I contact about FUNimation's subscription or about my subscription account?

How do I send a gift subscription?

How do I cancel my subscription? :(

Make sure you are logged in. Click on the little arrow just above your username in the header at the top of the page. Click on "My Account" in the section that drops down. Click on the Subscription tab and then the Overview tab. Click on the link that says "Cancel Subscription". In the window that appears, click on the "Yes" button to confirm your cancellation. Clicking this will also close the window. You will see a small green notification message appear in the bottom right corner of your screen if the process was completed successfully.

Note: If you cancel your subscription before the end of your free trial, your access to subscription videos and other content will be revoked immediately. Subscription content access will not last until the end of your free trial.

Why do the videos still play without commercials even though I have cancelled my subscription?

If you are a paying subscriber not in your free trial and you have cancelled your subscription, your account will remain a subscriber until the end of your subscription term. Then it will revert back to a FreePass account. You may renew your subscription at any time by signing up again at www.funimation.com/subscribe.
