Why wouldn't Todd be returning? He voices the main character. I mean if you're worried about him being an LA actor that doesn't really factor into anything fro his role in Fairy Tail since he was living there during the recording for Season 1...Tyler wouldn't have casted him in the role if he wasn't sure he would fly out to record.
And it's not like the other actors aren't still around in FUNimation. Besides Season 2 mostly focuses on new characters anyway so that's a bit of a silly thing to worry about. Recasting is inevitable with such a large cast (Romeo's had a recast in the dub due to his actress moving) but I doubt the big roles will be going anywhere.
Well, i wasn't sure. I had found another fairytale season english dubbed, but it was from another company.

Yeah, that was Animax Asia's dub (which was the first English dub of the series ever made), an English dub made in Hong Kong not meant to be seen in America. That dub isn't in production anymore either.
I can assure you that you shouldn't have to worry about FUNimation recasting every single character in the series.

I hope they don't let the license go to waste like they did with When They Cry and Case Closed. They've had the license to dub the next season for six months or so. What's taking so long? I know they've got a lot to dub, but I expected a trailer by now.

They are not going to release a trailer until it closer to its release.
Plus other stuff have to has to be approved from the licensor(s) like scripts, cover-art, etc.

I don't know about When They Cry but for Case Closed the dropped that since nobody was buying it. It's perfectly reasonable for there to be a gap between the batches of episodes that are acquired, and truth be told I think the one-month releases made some FT fans feel rather spoiled/entitled to quick releases.
Re: Will funimation dub the second season of fairy tail
Sorry i'm new to the fairy tail forum and i am extremely close to finishing the current dubbed episodes. I was just wondering how many episodes season 2 will contain and how Funimation is planning to release them. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me

I'm in the same boat, I'm almost finished with season 1 on Hulu, and was curious about season 2 (specifically for streaming but hey anyway works)
Re: Will funimation dub the second season of fairy tail
Well lets hope they release soon. I only have 2 more episodes left, and i'm getting really attached to it. One of the better anime I've watched so far. Also the voice actors almost perfectly fit the characters, very fun to watch.

Season 2 has 48 episode but I hear FUNimation only has 24 of them. They say they are working on them and we will see them "soon"
