According to the schedule, Fairy Tail's first two subtitled episodes will start streaming on the site on Friday, June 17, with two episodes a week after that.
well im glad its being streamed soon but it looks like the dub stream will start at episode 7-9.....thats pretty weird.
7-9? I checked the list and it said it was releasing 9-10 as the first dubbed episodes for streaming.
Of course, FUNi streams pretty much all of their stuff these days. They could probably stream preview episodes, but not simulcast.
Funimation would probably only stream the earlier episodes as they only have the first 48 episodes licensed. It wouldn't be a simulcast anyway, since Funimation hasn't entered into a deal to simulcast the series.
I had a chance to talk to Todd Haberkorn on episode one of the show, he explained that FUNi is being very cautious with this show. The first 48 were bought so that they could gauge how well the series would do with consumers in the US. Simply put, if the pre-orders do well they plan to license the rest. I am definitely pre ordering it once it is announced(Unless it is at a future con like Todd said, then I would try to pick it up there, or buy it online early).
