Say, did anyone here reverse their covers?
I reversed parts 1,3 and 4. Actaully I should say a scanned the recerse side, printed and cut it so I could keep the bullet points on the back
I reversed mine on 2, 3, and 4 so they would all have the main characters on the front.
Sorry for the double post, but here is what I have to say. I just bought sets 1-4 again but now off of Amazon. I did this because graduation is coming up soon(June 1st I believe, I want to make sure it gets to my house in time), and I have a friend that is a Senior that also reads the Fairy Tail manga, but hardly watches subbed anime. For his Senior Sendoff gift, I am giving him the first 48 episodes of Fairy Tail in English, I am sure he will enjoy it.
Apparently Kayla Carlyle (voice of Romeo Conbolt) is moving to California.
I guess this means she won't be voicing the character anymore in future episodes since she obviously won't be in Texas to record the lines.
I noticed in the credits of episode 41 that Lindsay Seidel is credited as Romeo Conbolt.
At first I thought this might just be a case of bad scheduling but maybe Tyler Walker already knew of Kayla's situation and prepared for a recast.
So I guess Lindsay Seidel will voice Romeo in all future episodes.
There are exceptions where some Funimation VAs (e.g. Kyle Hebert, Vic Mignogna, Troy Baker) still fly out to Texas from L.A. to work @ Funimation for reprisals, but since Romeo isn't a huge role and Kayla has only been in a few dubs I doubt she will reprise the role.

Well, that's interesting. I mean, I know some voice actors still travel to Texas on plane to voice characters still. Really sucks if he is recast, I am sure Tyler hates loosing a voice so early on.
Todd Haberkorn lives in LA too (as revealed in Fairy Tail commentary). But as you say Romeo's role is so small it would be better to recast or his role is so small they even do it over the phone!
So is it just me, or does it feel like Funi aren't treating Fairy Tail's dub as carefully as, say, One Piece's.
I mean I like the casting, the acting, etc. But there are just a few things that niggle.
a) Raijinshuu was translated as Thunder Legion. While the name Thunder Legion sounds awesome, it doesn't make sense why this was done.
Ul was translated as Ur. We all know about the issues with the letter 'l' in japanese, but this presents problems with explaining Ultear's name later on.
c) This may just be me but it's damn near impossible to hear what some of the characters say during attacks, namely Natsu and Laxus.

The Japanese word "衆" (shuu) means "a great number of people", and so does the English word "Legion". And since "神" (jin) alone would mean something like "God", maybe we could think of the Biblical Legion when they say "神衆" (jinshuu). Add "雷" (rai), or "thunder", and we get "Thunder Legion". Or they simply could've just dropped the word "God" altogether to closer match the lip flaps. It makes it sound less clunky, too.

They've already explained Ultear's name in the dub since she was revealed to be Ur's daughter in episode 18. It was a decent enough description: "Don't make [Ur] shed another tear" (likely misquote).

No comment. If you're curious about attack names, many of them are translated the same way in the Funi subs.
Funimation is at Sakura-con right now. The significance of this is that last year at Sakura-con, they announced Fairy Tail Episodes 1-48. From today to the 8th, they will be attending, so I hope we get news of Episode 49-96, or possibly a whole series license this time around.

This would still leave in the Thunder God part

I'm talking about the specific line Ultear says to Gray on Tenroujima

I know what they are thanks to the fansubbers, but this is still a fault with the dub.
