I don't read the manga but I though the S class arc was next?
it is.
Spoiler: Highlight to view
tenrojima is the name of the island the exam takes place in
Is it finished yet? Because I wouldn't want Fairy Tail to pull a Bleach and add filler right in the middle on the main story.
I don't hate filler in general I just hate it when happens like that.
nope. the arc is about my personal guess 12 chapters away from being finished but im sure a-1 will figure something out.

It's not finished yet, but it should be in about maybe 10 chapters, give or take a few.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't finish reading the post, so I thought it was unanswered due to the quotes messing up...
Saw some old episodes of Fairy Tail and in episode 42 Happy mentioned "what if all the members of Fairy Tail fought each other" so I guess the S class battle was all his idea! I can't believe I missed that!
I wonder if this season will have any filler arcs. I mean, it's supposed to start with the S-class trial, and the manga appears to have reached the climax of this arc, so it's actually not all that far from catching up. It's probably inevitable that there will be some extensions to the events already shown in the manga, like the anime has been doing for a while. The thing is, I haven't been disappointed by Fairy Tail's filler or extensions, so I wouldn't say it's a problem now. However, I wonder how much longer they'll be able to keep it up.
If season 3 of Fairy Tail is going to be dubbed by Funimation, I would prefer Jason Liebrecht as Zeref, Justin Cook as Zancrow, Ed Blaylock as Hades, Scott Hinze as Kain Hikaru, Jennifer Forrester as Meredy, Bob Carter as Caprico, Kent Williams as Azuma, and John Burgmeier as Rustyrose.

You realize we'll get to at least hear Hades's English voice due to his brief voice-only cameo for the very last episode of the season, right?
That said, they really had better get season 3. I don't want people ignoring Funimation in favor of everything else they can get for free online.

...Not quite.
You'll see soon what it's all about.
I'm excited for more Fairy Tail
this is great news even though I never saw Fairy Tail yet. I'm waiting for the dub...
