It was good.
Cracked up quite a few times. [such as Mirajane commenting on Gray's 'skivvies' and Natsu and Happy's reaction to Lucy's plan involving Everlue's toothbrush. XD]
Only thing is that I think they may have made Levy's voice just a bit too deep.
I agree with you about Levy's voice, however she does look older in the first few episodes, so hopefully one it gets to the Phantom Lord arc, her voice will change with her appearance(Not voice actress, just the tone).
Re: Fairy Tail episodes 1-4 dubbed stream date revealed(?)
As someone who is still mulling over whether to make Fairy Tail one of his favorites, I have this to say as of episode 3:
This dub is awesome.
In fact, only three episodes in, I'm already thinking I like the English dub more then the Japanese version overall. This is due to some really good acting (Cherami Leigh is AWESOME as Lucy--it cannot be said enough), but mostly due to a brilliant script. It plays up the jokes a little, yet is a perfect translation that avoids being overly stiff.
And looking up some info, I understood why I like this dub so much. So far, it's been written by Monica Rial, who did most of the script for Ouran High School Host Club's phenomenal dub.
This is the dub that both Sgt Frog and Soul Eater should have had. It's actually re-ignited my interest in the show, and I'll definitely look forward to more.

I'm sure there are some who are unhappy that Funimation isn't keeping as close to the subtitles as possible. Like how they handled Cancer in episode 4, changing his verbal tic of "shrimp" to "baby." But I personally think that joke would have been very clunky if it had been done to the letter. The dub changes the joke, but gets the same meaning across, in my opinion.
Happy: "Oh, so he just makes the bad guy look cooler before he kills us, that's useful. Yeah, you should send him back Lucy."
Love that line.
Dub's still awesome, especially with Chris Ayres as Duke Everlue. Back when I watched this episode in Japanese, I thought the drama was kind of hackneyed and generic (and though it's gotten better, that's really my main complaint with the show). Maybe it was delivery issues, because the dub actually made the scenes kind of poignant.

Duke Everlue is one of the most insignificant characters in the long run of the show, but with such a noteworthy voice actor playing such a minor role, I find all the major scenes relating to the character to be one of my favorites in the dub. I really look forward to hear more about who plays who (I know all about the massive dub cast reveal, but that's only for a fraction of the series), and then hear them in action.
Besides, I really like the looser script; it makes the dub feel less forced and a bit more organic, unlike some of Funi's other dubs, as great a company as it is. It just gives the whole thing a little different flavor, yet it still sounds right. At one point, someone said that the kind of scriptwiring that the dub of Fairy Tail has is the one that Soul Eater and Sgt. Frog should have had, and that was a good point. If it happened to be you who said this, well, then you raised a good point.

Saw episode 4. Very nice.
I'm very happy with how Newton Pittman adjusted his portrayal of Gray from the very first appearance. Not as gruff.
Hoping Kristi Bringham can do the same with Levy and have her sound lighter.
Makarov's portrayal from R. Bruce Elliott also makes a change for the better, which you should be able to see once it hits the Eizenwald Arc.

Yeah but some of the overly zealous dub haters are already slamming the slight script changes but I really don't mind.
