Wow, what a powerful backstory of Ultear and her mother and how she escaped back home to find her mother happy with other children after having given her up for magic testing, that was kind of harsh of her to do. It looks like Gray is going to assemble a team of people to go takes on Hades, which should be awesome, I still can't believe he beat Ultear and I'm really looking forward to seeing where this all goes. Awesome chapter this past week, bring on the next segment baby!

So Zancrow came back only to get literally killed by Zeref. How freakin retarded. What was the purpose of that anyway?! Didn't Zancrow get treated like fodder enough by Natsu earlier?! Geez, Mashima! Must the 7 Kin be shamed even more?!
Interesting that Zancrow knew of Ultear's treachery, which means I have no doubt that Hades knew as well. No way Zancrow would know and Hades wouldn't. Why Hades just let this go is beyond me.
Don't really get the part with Zeref though. He says that if this age is coming to an end, he might end up awakening. I don't get this at all. Still wondering how he knows Natsu and how and why he turned Natsu's muffler black.
So Hades was truly impressed that the 7 Kin and Bluenote got defeated?! Still didn't seem like he cared at all. He has basically lost his whole Guild. One would think he'd be a little more concerned that his supposedly superior "Lost Magic" was beaten so easily.
It's really too bad Gajeel isn't there with the main characters. That would've made it perfect. I don't like that Wendy is there, but Gajeel is the only Dragon Slayer that isn't.
Now it seems like Hades doesn't care about Zeref, but instead more concerned with defeating FT. He's such an idiot! He basically just set himself up for a nakama power up scenario.
If Hades is to be defeated in this Arc, which is pretty much inevitable now, I really hope it's Makarov that gets to kill him or defeat him. Makarov should be the one to fight and defeat Hades.
Oh and that bit about when Natsu's around his comrades he gets stronger was that too cheesy. I wish Mashima would cut back on those kinds of cheesy lines/dialogue.
Still don't understand though how these main characters are supposed to defeat the man who single handley defeated Makarov in 1 chapter without even much effort and without taking a single ounce of damage.

Rather eventful chapter.
The attack and defense teams are decided as the former goes off to take on Hades.
Lisanna notes to Lucy what we know. Natsu is strongest when his trusted friends/comrades are near him. She certainly knows Natsu.
Zancrow intercepts Meredy, knowing of her and Ultear's true intentions. The guy further proves himself a douche by torching Meredy before throwing it in her face that Ultear destroyed her home town. [in the process, we learn of what it was Meredy wanted]
Unfortunately....for Zancrow anyway....Zeref comes out of his unconsciousness and casts a fearsome spell that apparently kills him while not harming Juvia or Meredy in the process. Only knocking them unconscious.
Even more curious is that Doranbolt was a witness.
Erza converges with Gray and the rest of the group converges with them.
And now it's time for the final battle. Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Erza, Wendy, and the Exceeds against Grimoire Heart Master Hades. Previous master of Fairy Tail and whom curb-stomped Makarov. [Odds are this won't be easy. Understatement.]

I'm loving this arc and almost everything involved! Fairy Tail has certainly moved into my 2nd favorite manga series thanks to it's breakneck battles, awesome characters, and fun storytelling, I really can't wait for the DVD's to hit store shelves!
As for this chapter, I can't help to feel as if things may be coming to an end with the way that this weeks tale came to an end, I certainly hope it isn't about to end but you got to admit that it had that vibe to it. I'm loving how the story's been playing out as of late and if this series isn't coming to an end soon then something major is about to happen that will (continue to) shake Fairy Tail to it's very core, I can feel it. Awesome stuff!

Great chapter. I imagine Mashima has something amazing planned for the Dark Mage who finally got up and in action, as well as Hades, bound to be one of the most memorable fights in the series. I know one thing, I cant wait. Now if only Gajeel gets in.

I was really impressed with their teamwork when attacking Hades, but I think everybody expected it to be pointless. I loved how Natsu was essentially what everyone based their attacks on, it really said something to me about how everyone thinks of Natsu.
Poor Wendy. It's always the support person who is targeted first...

Seemed as though the Fairy Tail team was winning, but it turned out to have no affect at all on Hades. Wendy is now missing, and it seems as though Laxus is going to make an appearance next chapter due to the name of chapter 244 being called "Thunder Crashes"

Wow. I actually expected this.
They started with their very best and it wasn't even a warm-up for Hades.
Kinda worried about Wendy now. The others too.
