Evangelion goes Hollywood. Newcomers will likely be bamboozled by the films' nonstop barrage of characters, technobabble, visual overload and plot points doled out at the rate of machine gun fire, but hell if those aren't some pretty pictures and fancy explosions. The films are great fun to watch with friends, but don't go in expecting the same level of refinement in pacing, character development, mood and thematic complexity seen in the original series. For some people, this may be a welcome change.
