okay,
I'm relatively new to the forums but have been a fan of Funimation for a number of years, and so I would like to say hello everyone!
short version at the bottom.
Now, as of recent I had an itch to watch the show Ergo Proxy again, the first time being streamed by the good people at funimation.
so once again I checked to see if it was still online only to find that it was not, I was not too disappointed though knowing full well that they have rotate every once and awhile.
None the less I was still determined to at least too find and then buy it, this is where things get strange. First option and imo the most reliable was amazon.com, and sure enough it was their but here's the catch. it cost $84 used and on google shopping could go for almost four times as much new.
Now, I don't know too much about how these prices are set or if websites buy, hoard, and then sell for these (frankly outrageous) prices, but I know somethings weird and I'm hoping someone could fill in the blanks, thanks.
Short version: Why can't I find Ergo Proxy for a reasonable price if at all?
okay, I'm done. sorry for the Wall-o-text.

The last collection was released in 2008 and is out of print.
I believe FUNi has rescued the license, but is caught up in the Geneon Universal Japan merger, so there's no new release in the foreseeable future, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.
Other than purchasing the out of print series on sites like Amazon or Ebay for a ridiculous price. I do believe the digital download is still available for purchase from Amazon.
Being wrong is not a democracy!
thanks for the explanation, it was kind of weird how it just fell off the map.
That answered my question but I'm still sad on the whole that it might take a while to come back into print, it was too good not to.
