As we all know, during the last few episodes of Kai in Japan, the newly composed music by Kenji Yamamoto was replaced by Kikuchi's original score for Dragon Ball Z and thanks to that action, many international dubs including the Japanese original had to switch over to the Kikuchi score. Judging from what I've seen seen on 4Kids, the music, while having more diversity in Kai also seems a little mixed. One example I can think of is when "cute" music was played over the scene where it doesn't fit. I still like Kikuchi's music however the placement in Kai is experimental, I guess.

What are your Thoughts of Kikuchi's Score in DBZ Kai?

It's terrible. Too much of the same music is played.
It's not as if Kai didn't already have this problem with Yamamoto's music. Several tracks were extremely overused. I can't speak of music placement faults yet as I haven't actually heard Kai with Kikuchi's score; I don't watch Kai on TV. It seems I'll probably be hearing it on Part 5, so I'll form an opinion then.
^This, and alot of the musical choices are pretty bad as well.
Shunsuke Kikuchi's score is my favorite in the Dragon Ball franchise, as well as one of my favorite anime scores in general, so to me, it's just painful to hear it so horribly misused in Kai.

While I agree with you guys for the most, Z is also kinda guilty of playing the same tracks over and over again so its not just Kai. Still love the cues though. However, Yamamoto's score, I can barely hear it, especially in the dub, so it was nothing memorable, well to me, about his score.
For me, it's just going to make it annoying when the music suddenly shifts in the middle of the series for me. And for anyone just now getting the sets, once the music eventually shifts even on those, will most likely be missing out on the great insert songs.

Actually, I saw an episode on Toonzai, and while it did use Kikuchi's score, it also played "Only a Chilling Elegy." So I think the insert songs will still be in Kai.
"Of course you realize, this means war!" -- Bugs Bunny
"Here we gooooo!" -- Mario
There are two songs that are likely to be cut. Saiyan Blood and News of the Cell Game, because they were both composed and arranged by Kenji Yamamoto (and therefore are potential legal death traps).

Oh, so he only composed those two? I'll still be sad to lose those, but honestly, I was mostly worried for 'Over the Star' and 'Ginyu Tokusentai'.

I've seen a few episodes lately on Nicktoons with still the Kai music but have replaced certain pieces with other pieces.
I am mixed about this. I like the fact that Kikuchi's original score is used in a proper english dub. The problem is how it's used. The sound director isn't very good at picking the right pieces. There are 245 released BGM's for DBZ. Since he can't use Cha-la Head cha-la and We Gotta Power variation, it reduces down to 210 (or something like that). And since he can't use tracks that weren't digitized to stereo (Which is mono), it reduces further down to one hundred forty something. So there are 140-150 Z tracks that are in stereo. Yukio Naka-sucky has PLENTY to choose from so I don't understand why he chooses the same 10-20 tracks that play in every single episode.
