Now that I own all 34 Dragonball perfect Kanzenbans I would really appreceate it if someone could provide me a list of coloured pages that wearn't retained in the VIZ Bigs so that I dont have to go through the ones I have already seen in the Z Viz bigs. Ah I will review some difference too..

My thoughts:

Size - Each Kenzenban is slightly taller than the standard Tankoubon that VIZ preveously releaced but if it stands next to the 1st printings they seems almost similar in height.

Feel - Each Kanzenban seems to have a newly drawn image by akira toriyama and best off all the image sorta sticks out so you can feel the outlines in it, hard to explain lol.

Unlike the VIZ big the inside first page is shiny sorta elaminated image cell of the chosen cover with a white background. While the VIZ big has a inverted colour black and white image of their chosen cover of Goku.

Contents layout - The Kanzenban displays the contends going down the page in green and then begins the chapter, unlike the VIZ Big which makes you have to read though the character profiles which tends to take up 9 pages from the first front page throughh the contents all the way till you read the final character profile page in total in order to get to the beginning of the chapter. (There are no character profiles info in the Kanzenban)

Quality: Now this is interesting to note the Kanzenaban has no particular edits to remove any missed ink lines like how the VIZ Big presents it. For example ya know how sometiems you see a part of a characters clothing or hair completely black with no white specks out un-inked bits at all. Well interestngly enough VIZ touched up this by making all areas of blackness fully black. The Kanzenban has white uncoloured bits on the black parts which shows how hard Akira tried to colour them in but missed alot of parts. Not really a big gripe but it feels more authentic seeing it this way!

*Even more weird the VIZ big is taller than the Kanzenban and even the pages of the Kanzenban seems different to the VIZ Bigs white bright pages, yes the kanzenban retains the yellow creamy colour that the old publications had. I dunno why this is, its like VIZ scanned them and put them into their book 0_0*

Censoring: This is surprising to say the least the Kanzenban is completely uncensored so all the middle fingers, nipples, wee wees, and Satans name are still there. (Looked through a few issues)

- The Puff Puff scene that Oolong has a fantasy about while still in his human male like form in DB, the girl has nipples but in the VIZ editions they are edited.

Yamucha flipping off Tenshinhan in a pannel, this was left in the older red dragon VIZ books and earlier red ones too, but was edited away fist and all in newer versions.

- Gohans wee wee is retained in the Kenzenban when he turns back from an Oozaru while viz edited it completely away. All other instances of it are only found in the Kanzenban too as VIZ removed any trace of it.

- The pannel of all the Z warriors flipping off imperfect cell is in the Kanzenban in colour while the Viz Big and Z Manga edit them into fists.

- Once the Trunks returns to his timeline after cells defeat by Gohan, the Kanzenban shows 17 shooting the old mans chin with the gun, VIZ edited it into a fist.

- Herculpolis is called Satan City again in the Kanzenban and his name is Satan as well as all the instances his name appears thoughout the Cell arc.

- To show Toriyamas hatred for Buu in Mr. Satans mind made a panel of him saying he was gonna beat the living crud out of him, little did you know he was flipping off in the pannel with his fist in the Kanzenban. While VIZ changed it into a fist.

- The cruel killers who shooten the elderly couple in the Kanzenban used a sniper rifle, VIZ changed it to a lazer and blaster.

- After that we see them shooting inocent cervilians for target practice in the Kanzenban using bullets from their firearms, VIZ once again changed these to lazers.

All pannels seem different even when Bee is shot due to the change between a tazer weapon or lazer and a bullet, as seen in this scene all the blood is edited away while in the Kanzenban its all there.

- After Bee is shot the gunmen go on a all out assult on Mr. Satan and Boo. Alot is changed here in these comparison pannels so much as so it's one of the most edited scenes in all of the Dragonball manga that VIZ did as opposed to the uncensored Kanzenban!!!

- After the assult has subsided and Bee gets healed, Mr. Satan gets shot through the chest in the Kanzenban while the VIZ BIg edits it to look like he has been zapped by a tazer or lazer removing all blood spatering out of him.

- To pay for their crimes the Gunmen meet their end to Old Boo and Evil Boo both intend to try to kill him using gun fire but it is inefective against him as shown in the Kanzenban, Viz edited the bullets to lazers once again however they missed the edit when the fat gunman shot boo with his gun they even forgot to change the sound into a lazer!!

- Akira Toriyamas farewell message in the Kanzenban is omitted in favor of the added scene of Vegeta at the Tournament in the Kanzenban while Viz use the message under it instead but keep the coloured Goodbye pose from the Kanzenban.

Finally we are at the end of this dissection I have made, here are two rare images which VIZ may have altered without you expecting just to make the images more noticable they like to throw text onto the image ruining it to make it look cooler when it actually looks uncooler...

Final verdict - Is this the pefect Dragonball edition?

YES but I dunno if it would be to you, if you like the anime better than this wouldnt be for you but if you like owning it in paper back then yes it is.

And that's that. I hope this is both informal and helpful to show you how badly VIZ edited the manga and considuring there are no complaints or questions I take it this is perfect essential to you That make me happy ^_^

Here's hoping an uncensored Kanzenban comes out over there and if it doesen't then at least you'll have this guide to help you see what was changed the most
