Re: Likelihood of FUNi Releasing DB Movies in Dragon Box Format?
Problem is that Kai doesn't have a screwed up release like Z did. With Z, it had to deal with Seasons 1 and 2 being only available edited and with the original 1996 cast, followed by there being nearly 100 discs for the entire series, followed by a remastering release that several fans did not approve of and a release of the actual Japanese remastering.
Kai's only worry right now is possible future boxsets having more episodes crammed in and possible re-releases of older sets to deal with the music issues involved with Yamamoto being replaced.

@Craddle (wouldn't let me quote) Plus with the GT complete series out, and the fact that the GT sets are mostly approved by fans, I wouldn't count on GT Dragon Boxes. There's very little picture differences between it and Funi's sets. The difference is certainly much smaller than Funi's DBZ Box Sets and Funi's release of the Dragon Boxes. In other words, GT doesn't really have much to justify a special Dragon Box release.

I will not agree with this completely. While content wise the GT sets were okay, quality wise they were garbage. I went through three sets on Season 1 and two on Season 2. I know I was not alone in this as I recall a lot of people having the same issue with getting scratched disks in the original thread on the old FUNi Forums. I am not sure if the new collect box set has the same issues so this may not be an issue anymore but for the season sets it was.

While they are definitely trying trying to make money releasing the Dragon Ball movies is not guaranteed to make them a profit for multiple reasons. The first is that they likely do not have the Dragon Ball movies in Dragon Box format. The only confirmation we have of what FUNi does have is for the Dragon Ball Z series and movies. The second reason is that while Dragon Ball Z always sells Dragon Ball does not have the same guarantee and for FUNimation to trust that the movies of Dragon Ball, which sell worse that the Dragon Ball series anyway, will sell enough to break even for the cost of getting them in Dragon Box format would likely be a bad business move.
Re: Likelihood of FUNi Releasing DB Movies in Dragon Box Format?
While the GT sets are close to the Dragon Box footage, they still suffer somewhat from a bit of blurring and saturation issues. They're also ultimately missing Next Episode Previews (which were actually included in the pre-remastered DVDs) and have the dub episode titles only, which is incredibly annoying with the Dragon Ball series seeing as how they changed every single episode title in the franchise (save for Kai).
Re: Likelihood of FUNi Releasing DB Movies in Dragon Box Format?
Another advantage that Dragon Box GT has is that they're progressive encoded, while the lime bricks are interlaced. Sorta minor, but worth noting, I think.
I wouldn't bet Kai being over. They'll probably release that over and over like Z.
