I've really been tempted to go out and buy the Dragon Ball movie pack, but I'm just so sick and tired of buying something from FUNi then they release something better later on.
What should I do? Should I wait? If I continue to do that, and they don't release the movies in DBox format, I probably won't be able to find a cheap copy of the movie pack since it'll likely be discontinued by then.

You should probably wait.
They're almost about to release DBox 5.
Maybe in a year or so, the movie pack will become available.
I am not sure, this is just a guess.

Iunno. I'm a bit worried they won't release the movies since their latest line of DVD movies were canceled.
Also, the reason I ask this now is I'm trying to get the 'free shipping for orders over $50' at Rightstuf and I have nothing else to buy.

I think that FUNimation supposedly already has the footage for Dragon Box: The Movies which, unless I'm mistaken, includes all of the features for the franchise, this includes Dragon Ball. If this is true, I'm sure we'll see a release after they finish releasing the DBZ Dragon Boxes.
Where did you hear that?

It was announced when FUNi first announced the "Z" boxes. As I said though, I'm just riding on the assumption that when they announced a "Dragon Box: The Movies" that it was in the same vein as the Japanese release which included all of the films. However, they may just be planning to release the 13 Dragon Ball Z films to Dragon Box at this time. There really is no definitive answer available at this point. It's up to you alone whether or not you make a purchase. There are only two "Z" Dragon Boxes left to go, which should finish up the releases by the end of this year. If anything is going to happen as far as additional Dragon Box releases are concerned I'm sure we'll hear something by then, and I highly doubt that the Dragon Ball Movie Pack will be discontinued that quickly.
Wait, wait... they announced Dragon Box: Movies? When!?

They announced that they had received the original, remastered film masters for the movies at the same time as announcing they had the footage for Dragon Ball Z. Again, this may mean just the 13 "Z" films. I'm simply speculating, which is all anyone can do at this point, that they would have received the complete "Dragon Box: The Movies", with all of the features, the way it was originally released in Japan. Long story short, if you want the movies that terribly bad now, then buy the Movie Pack. The price isn't bad and the quality isn't terrible by any means. If you can wait a few more months, closer to the end of the Dragon Box Z releases, I'm sure more information, if anything is even going to happen, will have been announced by then.
I am actually pretty sure they were just talking about the Dragon Ball Z movies when they said they had the masters. As much as I agree with you on hating to buy something twice, or four times like I have done with some of the releases, I say go ahead and get the Dragon Ball movie set. It is not likely they will release those movies in Dragon Box format as I doubt FUNimation will do anything Dragon Box outside of Dragon Ball Z.
Here, I found an article that states that FUNimation received the footage for DBZ and "all 13 of its movies." No word on whether Dragon Ball or its movies will see Dragon Box releases or not. This, of course, doesn't mean that it won't happen. It just means that no information has been announced at this time. The choice is up to you.

Wow, why have I never heard of this? Thanks. I know FUNi; if they acquired the license, they're going to use it. Now to figure out what to buy to get that free shipping...
