I honestly think these are the Dragon Boxes!!! Funimation already announced at Otakon 2009 that they had aquired the dragonboxes for Z and the movies so why would they need to announce it again at Otakon 2011??? Does this even make sense??? We already know funi has the dragonbox film masters for the movies don't you think they want to use them after how much they probably cost to get them licensed from Toei??? I honestly think there will be a trailer for Dragon Box The Movies part 1 on dragonbox z 7!! So my question to DragonautFan83 is why the hell would funi pay for the licensing fees for Dragon Box the Movies and not use them??? That doesn't make any sense so your comment is very illogical!!!!

To my knowledge, they only got the Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box, not the movies.

In Dragon Ball news, the first season of Dragon Ball will be released on September 15, after spending several years in licensing limbo. Video games for the franchise will also be available from Bandai Namco. Funimation also announced the fall release of the Dragon Ball Z “Dragon Box,” produced from the original Dragon Ball Z masters. With 42 episodes per release, at a $79.98 MSRP, it will also include the complete opening and closing credits, the original episode previews, and will be presented with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Flower Mound, TX – July 18, 2009 -- FUNimation Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, today announces that it has acquired the original masters for the entire Dragon Ball Z anime series, episodes and films, and will release all as the Dragon Box for the first time in the U.S. The first of seven Dragon Boxes will be available at major retailers nationwide this Fall.
I think FUNi releasing the Box movies is not a matter of if, but when. If they truly got the masters for the movies then there's no doubt in my mind that they'll use 'em. Is this release the Box movies? Iunno. Maybe the price is low because the movies have been released several times before? Plus, the movie singles got cancelled, so that could be a contributing factor on the price.
I hope this isn't a thin pack 'cause even though I know I'll eventually get them, it means I'll have to wait even longer.

Exactly what I was going to say. We know for a fact that FUNi has the movies, there's no way that they're just going to sit on them. The more I think about it though, the more a slim pack release seems more likely. I'll just keep hoping until it's official.
I really don't see them releasing the movies in one box. If FUNi released the Z boxes the same as Toei did then yea, but to stretch the Boxes to seven sets tells me they don't care to follow the original at all.
As for a redub of the movies, I definitely don't see that happening. The sets are made for "hardcore" fans of the original show after all.
Daizex was able to confirm that these are just movie packs, and will likely use the double feature masters.
Oh well. Looks like they are in fact trying to milk the double feature masters before they release the Box movies... which doesn't make much sense to me. I mean, we want the Box movies, not a cheap substitute. If we wanted the double feature masters, we would of bought them a while ago.
Ugh. Looks like we'll have to wait yet another year.

I'm hoping this isn't the Movies Box. I want them released on one box, not multiple sets. >: |
I want the GT Box more anyhow. Not a big fan of the 'Movies'.. lol

I doubt it, but I wonder if any re-dubbing will happen for any of these movies.

I don't know why anyone complains about milking a franchise. Why does it bother anyone? You don't have to buy it if you don't want to.
