The Blu-ray footage is worlds better than the DBox footage. I don't see how some of you guys think the DBox is better.
Personally, I don't even care.
I'm quite satisfied with my Dragon Boxes, regardless of their slightly-off color palette (which I can easily fix by adjusting my TV's settings, anyway) and lower-resolution video (which looks just fine upscaled on my 32"), and feel no need (or desire) to rebuy the series ever again.
Also, It's apparent that the Blu-rays' primary target demographic is the dub audience, as they only use English title cards and credits, so this release was never meant for me, anyway.
I don't like some of the colors in the Blu-Ray clips I've seen. I know some of them are closer to original Japanese broadcast, but others seem like they were fooling around a bit too much with it. Really, it's not Funimation's place to do this sort of thing. But I'll admit the Blu-Ray footage does stack up pretty well, but doesn't surpass, the DBoxes.
DBZ fans are more sensitive about their preferred DVD releases than are...well, people with more legimate things to be sensitive about. It gets really old. Having said that, I am surprised FUNimation actually made their own real remaster. When I first saw this I thought it was just the seemingly inevitable orange brick Blu-Ray release. They don't look bad. From the screenshots I've seen, they're comparable to the D-Boxes. The HD gives it an edge. I'll stick with the D-Boxes though, as they're more for sub fans and are already out. I haven't seen enough to make a definitive decision over which is 'better', though I'll be stubborn for now and say it's still the Dragon Box.
On that note, I wonder what the future of DB and GT holds. I don't see FUNimation releasing more Dragon Boxes on top of their own remasters for the other series', and I'm sure we'll see something eventually.
Yeah, that's how I noticed.
@FUNimation: You missed a spot!

Some one who isn't a dub fan would say that.

Well, I'm not a dub fan. And even besides which, I don't think the video quality edges out the DBoxes.
wow ,thanks craddle the bluray footage is worlds better than the dbox footage ,i dont see how some of you guys think the dbox better
Am I the only one who absolutely hates the movie opens and thinks an English Cha-la Head Cha-la would be way better?
You can find a Filipino english on Youtube I'm sure FUNimation could do mush better just like with the English Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku
They have time to add that for future releases right?
