Thank you and I doubt they will release them on blu-ray, a least not for a while, the Dragon Boxes that is. They may release Dragon Ball Z in some format on blu-ray but I do not think it will Dragon Box or Dragon Box quality for a while. I do hope I am wrong though.
I would love to own the Dragon Box sets, but I wish they would release them in blue ray format, and Canine224 Your signature is freakin Awesome!!!
The Dragon Boxes were originally remastered in 480p by Toei so they are not true high definition. The only way the Dragon Boxes would find themselves to Blu-ray is if FUNimation upconverted them to HD and we've all seen how that goes (looks at Season Sets.)
I was going to make a new thread for this, but since there isn't enough information about it to warrant it's own thread. So here is the 6th Dragon Box Cover! (I found this in a post by WTK from Mania's forum)
I'm glad to see Piccolo finally get his cover. I guess this means that Super Saiyan Goku will be on the last Dragon Box.
Hmmm....Piccolo isn't a real major character in the episodes on this set, but it looks alright. Piccolo didn't really belong on DBZ Season 7's cover either.
As for DBZ on Blu-Ray, all 13 movies and both specials are available on Blu-Ray via the Blu-Ray Steelbook sets. From what I hear, they look quite nice.
Assuming you don't care about loss of 20% video, the widescreen made DBZ seem more epic at least when I watched it
U.S. remastering - the colors are more vibrant
The whole widescreen=movie=epic doesn't work for me and I found the over saturated colors a turn off. Some of the screenshots I saw for FUNi's "remastering" gave me a headache. Thank God for the Dragon Boxes. I got box 5 in the mail not too long ago. That picture of Piccolo is nice and I like the way that the DVD spines form a picture. I can't wait for FUNi to release Dragon Boxes for Dragon Ball. From what I read about, it sounds like I'd enjoy that more.

Critics who treat "adult" as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adults themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence....When I was ten, I read fairytales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

Nice, I do like that Piccolo cover.
That Piccolo cover looks really nice I like this one.
I can't wait to order box 5 now but I'll have to wait for a little while before I can.
Dragon Box 6's cover looks great. I guess that confirms Goku for the final cover!
Thanks for the picture art of Piccolo.
The Dragon Boxes are THE definitive collection!
