The official website for the magazine had already opened a "D" teaser page with a countdown to a "surprise" on Saturday, July 14.
Guess it will follow the new trend of manga creators writing/supervising anime film adaptations of their work.
I'm surprised Akira Toriyama agreed to do this since last I heard he wanted to put Dragon Ball behind him (he even said or maybe was joking that Naho Ooishi knows more about Dragon Ball than he does right now).
Guess money talks huh.
I'd prefer if Toei actually finished Dragon Ball Kai and adapted the Buu saga but as a fan of the franchise I guess I'm happy to have this new installment.
Hopefully it won't be forgettable like the majority of the other movies.

With any luck FUNimation will announce it at Anime Expo 2013 and it'll be dubbed by Fall or Winter 2013.

I'm pretty excited for this, even though I'm half wishing they'd just retire the DB brand for a while to let new ideas come out in a while. This could turn out to be awesome if Toriyama really helps them on this, and it becomes the equivalent of Strong World or Road to Ninja only for DB.
I'm actually hoping for something brand new rather than finishing where Kai left off (though that'd be fun too). I'd love to see some of the plot ideas of DBO adapted into a film, like Goku and Vegeta's true final fight with each other.

I can't get excited for something that gets animation productions multiple times in a five year span, games of worsening quality on a yearly basis and all...

The art definitely seems to suggest this will be set during the Buu arc, which disappoints me a bit since there goes my hopes of something finally giving Uub and Pan their chance to sign. But ah well - that was a long shot anyway.

Yet again, I must voice that I want Uub to finally get to shine, darn it Toei.
That aside, this was expected but it's cool that they're giving it a definite placement and seemingly saying flat-out that it will be 'canon' to some degree.

oh man sooo pumpt for this even if I kinda do want to see what else Akira can do besides DBZ still should be awesome I'm so curious on whats going to happen in this movie since basically all it seems Goku does during the time split between the end of DBZ and GT is just train Uub
