Re: Season 1, Part 1 coming out on DVD August 17th in Australia! Part 2 in October!
Yeah, I like it too. I mean it is simple, but at least it's something! Personally, I would've preferred the group photo we've seen so often but whatever. I do like that they put a picture of the digivice on the side border. Given how much importance they are, it was nice to see them acknowledged as a sort of "fifth wheel" to the show.
As for the CTC thing, I have no idea. Maybe it's for the rating system? I'm not sure how Australia handles it's ratings so...it could be related to that. I do wonder though if that's part of the final cover art or if this is a placeholder?

Does the madman release have the old FoxKids/Saban Dub on it? If so...I may just have to import (if possible) But yeah, loved Digimon back in the day, would love to see it get some proper season sets in the U.S. as well (looking at you Shout Factory.)

It would also be nice if the DVDs have the uncut Japanese version, with the original score (so we can have better subtitles then what Toei provides). Of course, I'm not counting on that happening.

Would Funimation even release this? They have Adventure 2, not 1. I'm confused on who's releasing this. Well, if it were released in North America. I don't really care who's releasing it in Australia. This looks awesome, but sometime they need to get the movie on DVD too. That's, like, one of my top favorite movies.

It's already out on DVD.
And I'm not sure why you'd want the uncut version. For one you wouldn't get the awesome voices of the original dub, and two you'd have to put up with the stupid choral soundtrack.

Oh, those be fighting words, my friend.
All works of fiction deserve to be uncut, so I'd want that for Digimon purely on principle. And I happen to find the Japanese cast to be superb (not to disparage the English voice actors--they started out rough and have quite a few miscast roles, but they still did a great job overall). Really, though--the music? You don't like the original score? The music is easily one of Digimon's strongest features. Quite aside from a superior placement (there were good pieces in the dub music, it very often didn't match the scene), I find Digimon is missing something without Kouji Wada.
But while I'd prefer uncut DVDs, I'll abide whatever we get concerning Digimon--as long as Toei gets around to streaming the rest of the shows.

Terribly.
Anyway, it's good to hear that we finally get something first and the Americans have to import.
