I will say this about Casshern Sins. This series is completely unique and stands apart from any series with similar themes in it. The way it expresses the beliefs about life and death and living, not just existing, but living to the fullest, is nothing short of brilliant. I also loved how though Casshern is the cause of the ruin, that Casshern throughout his journeys doesnt get better, as a matter of fact it affects him to the point that he too is suffering from his own mistakes that he made. His journey takes him from love interests to a true love which he has to lose slowly. No, not quickly, but slowly. IT even affects him to the point that he cant shed tears because the pain is too much. As he journeys throughout the lands that are stricken with the ruin and the people, robots, etc that he encounters just adds to the gritty reality of what his actions have done to the world around him and it affects him as well. Usually in a lot of anime characters make mistakes but they dont seem to affect them a whole lot. They usually get over it, though they hurt for a while they get over it. Cashern's mistake was so great that it is something in which he, the ultimate killing machine and immortal cant get over. Its like living in a personal hell forever. You cant die and you cant rid yourself of your guilt. To say it shortly: Casshern sins is a series that deals with the themes of life and death, all while portraying a character that can never be rid of the hell which he created in which he is stuck. Though he may have experienced some happiness along the way, Casshern is stuck forever in the world that he created. It is in that and many other themes expressed throughout this series that truly set this series apart from any other anime ever made. This is a true original that stands apart from all the rest. From its scope and vision, to its fully fleshed out character development. I have not seen a series this brilliant since Vision of Escaflowne. Anyways, watch the series and you will be taken on a journey throughout a post-apocalyptic epic that may teach you a lot about life and death... “So until that time, I will continue to live.”

it might just be me but i liked how Casshern's companions looked more human towards the end.
