There is evidence to suggest that Funimation has recently purchased Movie 7. I was scrolling through subbed episodes of Case Closed on the youtube channel, blackphantom1412, and what I found was, in the past he had uploaded Movie 7. I discovered that Funimation removed the video saying,
"This video contains content from Funimation Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."
WHOA, Calm down there Pistol Pete, don't jump the gun just yet. Don;t get me wrong, I would be ecstatic if Funi got more Case Closed movies. But just because they take somthing down, doesnt mean they have it. Funimation & VIZ both have been known to take down anime videos from youtube as a friendly gesture towards the companies they work with in Japan.
It is good to know Funi will take down illegally distributed eps & movies of Case Closed for TMS, but sadly this doesn't mean they have any new movies. However if they do, I would hope they announce it at one of the cons this fall. That would make my year.

Soundmonkey44 is correct. While a takedown may be a sign of a license, it may also be just a case of the Japanese company having asked Funimation, as their partner in distribution, to act to protect their rights. Funimation has a good relationship with several Japanese companies and has been asked to act on their behalf in several copyright matters.

Yeah, that doesn't confirm it, but I still feel the way I did when the movies finished coming out before. I'd be much more excited for like a random volume with like 5 more episodes that would come out as seldom as if they did any more movies, or even one. It's unfortunate but I would still get any more movies, it would just kind of be disappointing as well as awesome, so yeah I have money for it too.

Aww, that's too bad. Although in this hypothetical situation where Funimation is taking down the next movie specifically because they licensed it, it would be possible not many people including the cast know about it yet. I would hope something like that is possible, but the continued thought they would want to make people think it's more like a very seldom series of movies makes me fine if it never happened. Oh well, I'll not struggle with the idea till it ever happens.

Rumor has it that FUNIMATION bought the rights to movies 3 to 6 before it was dropped from Adult Swim due to almost no ranting no ad time and poor slots
Making the best of a bad thing they put a large amout of money into advertisements which is why the movies sold pretty well and they cont. to air the series on FUNIMATION CHANNEL.
Doing this may have been the double edge sword that killed the series
1 FUNIMATION CHANNEL. is as of yet ( sorry 2 say ) not a main stream network. a major piece of the fan base cant see it.
2 advertisements are far and few between fans wont pay top price for something they cant see especially when u know a new episode is out and onging.

Yeah I mostly agree with you, it makes sense they would have invested so much the way they did for different reasons at the time. There were ads that aired on Adult Swim even before it started though, it just doesn't seem like they got much attention.
I'm not really sure how significant the reruns on the Funimation Channel are, and I've been under the impression whoever arranged that one Wii game (not Funimation themselves) never intended for it to be released outside Europe, but I don't know for sure.
Sorry to say it, but judging just from the way you put it, I hope you understand its not really a matter of finding a network, I mean maybe the eventual DVD sales would benefit the possibility of more movies, but we already know that's all that might happen. If they need to try and find a bigger audience for the entire dubbed portion of the show just for that it's even more upsetting they wouldn't go after more of the series instead eventually.

I recently came across something really interesting
AT a recent convention a guy from japan visiting the states (someone high up in the production of the entire series) and was stated as saying
We really wanted the detective conan / case closed franchiser to do well in the US but for several reasons it didnt , He went on say that was disappointing that the american audience didn't get to experience the introduction of a japan fan favorite , which did appear in several recent and upcoming movies , If sales do well this might give way to more movies and possibly that ill fated meeting , but at this point they are unsure
