Case Closed Dub vs Sub

So iv been doing some research on it and yes apprently it truely ends at ep 130. but those who think the sub version is better then dub is absured. you clearly can fully understand Japanese or you like to read. but the problem i see is that for one the sub has u reading so much u cant even pay attention to the little clues on the show. u have to focus on the bottom screen and another thing is i speak english and think in english so to me even when i no some words theyre saying im not getting the expirence that i got from the dub versions. the sub version just sounds like the voice actors have no emotion in there voice at all. its just alot of yelling. i dont care for the subed version because im frickin english and theyve had the show for 20 damn seasons. and if they can get up to date eps of family guy in japense then they should be able to do it with case closed. they dont say why the ratings r so bad when the show is so good and has so many fans from around the world. the reason is because instead of getting a good time slot for adult swim they picked or were given one so late most viewers couldn't watch it. and shame on funimation for giving up on a series that could be enjoyed by more then just the remaining supporters whos forums have been locked for even suggesting the fact. im just saying if funimation is done with the dub version atleast reconsider the fact that detective storys r back in style and with a little work and a better timeslot it could be the next full metal alch in the english speaking world. im mean what do they have to lose. all the english voice actors r under their contract and they have the rights to the case closed version...

Im sure this page will be locked for some stupid reason but if all else fails i could just raise 25million dollars and buy the company and force it too.(hah if only life had a money cheat)

I havent watch the series and dont plan to anytime soon. Funimation has tried everyway they can to sell more and it doesnt work so y waste the time and effort. dude i understand how you feel. U know viz media right well the got hunter x hunter anime and it didnt sale great either. Guess what they dont make as much of a effort like funimation did with case closed.

I do think the subs are better. I do like to read. The dub over-localized the anime, changing character names and attempting to change the stetting(Oh a Japanese-style mansion, that seems so out of place in japan...) and I found it really disrespectful to the original. Also, it's very easy to retrain your eyes to read from periphery and speed-read, with practice. Which lets you pay attention to the screen even when reading subtitles.

Oh, there's so much irony here...

Eh, im not trying to save case closed because its completely outta my hands, more of an opinion . but those who responded you have made pretty good arguments for sub and have forced me to watch sub, im never going to like the subed Japanese voices but i assume ill have to if i wish to keep watching and as many of u know that case closed or detective conan(sign) is addictive. i think the main reason i wanted dub is because thats how i got use to the show .

Re: Case Closed Dub vs Sub

While I do agree that the dub was pretty good for this show, I cannot put myself with watching through the first 130 episodes dubbed since there is a very slim chance that Funimation will dub more episodes and that it would make me mad if I watched the first 130 episodes in English and then had to switch to Japanese so that is why I am starting the series from episode 1 in Japanese and working my way up in Japanese only. However, if Funimation does license the show for a 6th season, then I will especially support it by buying the 6th season but I am not going to buy the previous seasons yet until I hear such an announcement because I want to put my money into other shows that are still getting dubbed, for example Sgt Frog and One Piece, because I want FUnimation to at least countinue making dubs for those shows and not ending up with another Case Closed for those shows.
