Re: [C]-Control Simulcast Talkback

I guess we could hope they'll announce it at Anime Boston and/or Sakura-con. Maybe they could even catch up. Two weeks late isn't much of a simulcast, but it's certainly better than no stream at all.

Re: [C]-Control Simulcast Talkback

AnoHana better get licensed by someone, 'cause from what I've seen, it's already looking to be one of the best shows of the season, if not the entire year.

But back on the topic of [C], it's definitely intriguing so far. I won't spoil anything, but it's definitely got my attention, and is shaping up to be one of the better shows of the season. Will need more questions answered before I can really tip the scales in one direction or the other, though, so I'm looking forward to the next episodes.

Also, having NICO Touches the Walls for the opening theme and School Food Punishment for the ending theme is all sorts of lovely. =D (Especially the latter. I've grown rather fond of them since being introduced by Eden of the East.)

It tuck me a little to grasp what was going on with the rules of the game but other than that it was an enjoyably episode.

So far this shows seems like a darker version of Yugioh/Pokemon with money involved. The animation has been pretty average but I watched AnoHana before this which had excellent animation which would make it look worse. It's been alright so far but [C] could do a little better.

The good news for today (well, yesterday now) is that I'll now be able to watch it along with you guys since it will also be streaming in the UK on Anime on Demand, I believe at the same too.

Good to see you guys over on the other side of the pond getting more of these noitaminA shows.

@Samekh-- I believe we're going to see better animation in the 2nd ep, which is apparently when the fights are going to take place. Nakamura and Hashimoto tend to bring on some big names on their works.

I am liking this series!

The power of money at most powerful.

I can't wait to "meet" Kimimaro's "New "Partner", Mashu.

Re: [C]-Control Simulcast Talkback

I was hoping episode 2 would be up by now as well. Is this simulcast going to be a full week behind the Japanese airing, then?

The banner says "the money and soul of possibility," but in-show text says "the money of soul and possibility control." Doesn't make a whole lot of sense either way.

The male protagonist has a thing for a girl he knows, but she's got a boyfriend who we haven't seen any evidence of jerkiness from. That's a setup you don't see in most anime; then again, far more anime and manga star high school students than college students. The lure of being able to win her over with money is sure to go wrong.

Definitely looks like an interesting setup, and maybe I'll learn something about economics, too. I've seen the first six episodes of Spice and Wolf, but that's pretty dense and not that applicable to a society where an individual fiat currency can completely dominate a region with a population of 127 million. (And that's only the fourth most commonly held reserve currency, with #1 existing in 16 times its quantity and representing over 60% of the world's official foreign exchange reserves.)

The matter of what money is seems to be central, so let me post my understanding: Money is something people pretend has value to make it easier to move things of real value around where they can do the most good; individuals agree to this to make it easier to move those things to themselves. Today, you can tie this "pretend value" to bits of paper and metal (cheap*, but having physical existence), or have it exist as pure numbers, which happens when companies with lots of those bits of paper and metal (banks) loan and borrow more than they actually have (pretend pretend value). Is that a good beginning?

*This might be a good jumping-off point for the penny debate, but I don't know if other concepts would need introducing or elaborating first.
