Just announced via the Toonami official Tumblr account, there will be an Attack on Titan Marathon on August 30th for Labor Day Weekend. The night will kick off with a brand new episode of Space Dandy and then they will be showing back-to-back episodes of Attack on Titan.

 

It’s the perfect opportunity to get caught up on Attack on Titan if you’ve missed any episodes! Be sure to check your local listings for times.

FUNimation Series “Attack on Titan” to Air on Toonami Block

 

 

Flower Mound, TX – (April 12, 2014)  Adult Swim, the cable and satellite network paired with Cartoon Network, announced today that it will begin airing Attack on Titan during the popular anime programming block known as Toonami.  The series is scheduled to begin airing on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:30 pm ET.

 

Attack on Titian joins other FUNimation Entertainment® series Space Dandy, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Black Lagoon currently airing on the network.

 

 

SERIES SYNOPSIS:

When the man-eating giants called Titans first appeared, humans retreated behind massive walls. After a hundred years of safety, a colossal-sized Titan smashes through the defenses, unleashing a flood of giants and carnage in the streets. Eren Jaeger watches helplessly as one of the creatures devours his mother. He vows to kill every Titan walking the earth. Eren and his surviving friends enlist to fight against the insatiable monsters. The future looks bleak, but there’s more to Eren than meets the eye: he may be humanity s last hope against extinction. From the director of Death Note and High School of the Dead comes the series Anime News Network calls an intense, visceral, and graphic thrill ride. The Titans have come to feast. Black Lagoon Joins Toonami Line-up Starting March 22

One of the best action anime of all time is heading to Toonami, and it’s going to kick all kinds of ass! That’s right, Black Lagoon will be joining Toonami’s line-up starting March 22nd. It’ll be replacing Soul Eater once it ends in the 1:30am ET time slot.

 

So, are you ready to see the crew of Black Lagoon on television!?

 

If you’ve never seen the series, here’s a synopsis for you:

 

Rokuro’s mundane trip to South East Asia turns from pleasure cruise to festival of pain when modern-day pirates take him hostage. Revy, Dutch, and Benny are the ruthless crew of the Black Lagoon. For them, getting shot at while smuggling drugs, guns, and stolen goods is part of a typical day at work – and Rokuro is joining the team.

Otakon Vegas to Host Space Dandy Launch Event

FUNimation presents sneak preview, guests Ian Sinclair & Zach Bolton

 

FUNimation will present the first episode of the highly anticipated new anime Space Dandy in a special launch event at Otakon Vegas on Saturday (4 January 2014), featuring the U.S. voice of Space Dandy, Ian Sinclair, as well as ADR director Zach Bolton.  The anime will premiere in English on Adult Swim Toonami block at 11:30 pm that same day, and in Japan and throughout Asia hours later.

 

Space Dandy, the new anime from the entire creative team behind Cowboy Bebop, was announced at Otakon this past August by Shinichiro Watanabe (“Cowboy Bebop”, “Samurai Champloo”), who serves as general director for the series. Also on board are director Shingo Natsume (“Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos”); screenwriters including Kimiko Ueno (movie “Crayon Shin-chan”), Dai Sato (“Cowboy Bebop”, “Eureka Seven”), and Keiko Nobumoto (“Cowboy Bebop”, “Wolf’s Rain”); character designer Yoshiyuki Ito (“Star Driver”), spaceship designer Thomas Romain (Satelight) (“Basquash!”); and featuring a theme song by Yasuyuki Okamura. Animation production by Bones, Inc. (“Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood”, “Soul Eater”, “Eureka Seven AO”).

 

Ian Sinclair performs the title role of Space Dandy.  A professional actor based in Dallas, Texas, Ian’s best known for his roles as Brook in “One Piece”, as Toriko in “Toriko”, as Ryner Lute in “Legend of the Legendary Heroes”, as Bardroy in “Black Butler”, and as Romano in “Hetalia”, as well as various roles in the Borderlands video games. He’s also worked as a voice director on “Initial D”, “Spice and Wolf II”, “Black Butler”, and the “Shakugan no Shana” movie.

 

Zach Bolton directs the ambitious simultaneous English dub release.  Drawing on eight years of experience with FUNimation, Zach’s credits include “Soul Eater”, “Shin chan”, “Darker Than Black”, “Trigun: Badlands Rumble”, “Future Diary”, “Dragon Ball Z”, and “One Piece”.  He’s also lent his voice to Hero in “Soul Eater”, Pluto in “Black Butler”, Droy in “Fairy Tail”, among many others.
