The English dub for The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan premieres tomorrow and after wild speculation, Craigslist ads, and role-stealing sharks, we’re finally announcing the cast! Our friends at Okratron 5000 are handling the English dub, which features the following:
I just wanted to swoop in and say that I’m super excited about all the talk and buzz going on about the broadcast dub for theDisappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan. I can say that we’re very excited as well. When the word began to spread about the possibility of being able to dub this wonderful spin-off of the series, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, I knew that above all else we’d want to retain the original voice cast, as well as anyone else of the original production team that we could recruit. The trouble was I needed someone to help run the project, and I thought to myself “self, who is someone who can get things done? Who is someone that is just as obsessed with trying to ‘build the better dub’ we are here at FUNimation?” The answer came to me almost immediately… Christopher R. Sabat can help, Christopher R. Sabat can always help. And help he did. Not only did he manage to secure the entire (so far) original cast, but he also reached out to the talented Alex Von David. At the end of the day, we weren’t able to work out a schedule that worked for securing him for voice directing the entire series, but he’s agreed to help out as his schedule allows. So, now our man on the ground in LA is Todd Haberkorn, which we’re also very excited about! Anyway, I’m telling you all of this because usually when we make our cast announcements we attach a voice director, and since at the time of the cast announcement we were a little unsure about who was going to be the full time voice director, we went with Chris’ name as we knew he would be attached all the way to the 16th episode. To make this a very high maintenance announcement, the truth is that Todd Haberkorn is currently voice directing the series with Christopher R. Sabat producing, but to be fair, Todd may not be able to maintain the schedule and may have to duck out to let Alex or one of the other talented voice directors that Sabat has available to him. But what I can guarantee is that Chris, and the fine folks here at FUNimation, will be helping to keep things consistent and ensure that the dub sounds like one cohesive project, so that if Todd must jump out for a little bit, you, the fans, won’t know the difference. At least that’s our goal!

Are you ready for a double dose of Hyperdimension Neptunia wallpapers? This week we feature two Goddesses, Noire and Vert, with their own special wallpapers! Loot the right size for your desktop screen here.
Twintails and zettai ryouiki? Yep, Noire is a classic tsundere through-and-through. She’s the goddess of Lastation, a slick, futuristic kingdom that harkens back to the advanced video game console it’s based on. Noire is very responsible and hardworking, but her straightforwardness hides her soft and adorable cosplay-loving side… When she transforms into Black Heart, she’s… still pretty tsundere!
Vert is the goddess of the expansive kingdom of Leanbox, and her lovely figure compliments her impressive… processing power that the video game console she’s based on is known for. She’s definitely the most mature of all the goddesses, and even though she doesn’t have any little sisters in her kingdom, she’s something of an older sister-type character. When she transforms into Green Heart, she can be a bit more prideful.
You can pre-order the Blu-ray/DVD set here! Coming out on June 9th!

FLOWER MOUND, TEXAS – FUNimation Entertainment announced today its acquisition of U.S. rights to Mamoru Hosoda’s new Japanese animated film “The Boy and The Beast.” As part of its agreement with Gaumont International, FUNimation has secured exclusive rights to theatrical, digital and home video distribution of the film.
“We’re excited to bring The Boy and The Beast to audiences across the United States,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of FUNimation. “Mamoru Hosoda is a masterful director and has made Japanese animated film accessible to everyone.”
FUNimation has distributed two prior Hosoda films in the U.S. including the critically acclaimed and award-winning “Wolf Children” in 2013 and “Summer Wars” in 2010.
“We are looking forward to working with Gaumont International and plan to release ‘The Boy and The Beast’ to theaters beginning in late 2015,” said Mike DuBoise, EVP and COO of FUNimation. “We’re confident that critics and moviegoers will quickly agree that this is an Oscar worthy film.”
As the North American leader in the distribution of animated content from Japan, FUNimation’s acquisition of “The Boy and The Beast” exemplifies the company’s strategy announced in December 2014 — to bring to theaters its extensive library of content and future releases through the creation of a new theatrical events and distribution division based in New York City.
Look for “The Boy and The Beast” in select theaters in late 2015 and nationwide in early 2016.
