Last year, our friends at Japan Video invited us to attend the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival® to get some amazing footage for The FUNimation Show. This year’s event will be held on Saturday and Sunday April 12-13 and April 19-20, 2014. It’s free to join in on the festivities celebrating Japanese and Japanese American culture in San Francisco’s Japantown!
San Francisco’s Japantown is also the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States, so you know you’ll have an authentic experience. Never been to a cherry blossom festival before? Check out our latest FUNimation Show Quickie to see what it’s all about.
Our friends over at The Sword and the Stone just launched another episode of Man at Arms on their AWE me YouTube channel. The Burbank-based blacksmith shop famous for weapons featured in movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, and Blade created Edward Elric’s dragon spear in a previous episode. This time they’ve delved into the world of Soul Eater by making Tsubaki! Sorry guys, they couldn’t make her human form without breaking some cloning laws so you’ll have to settle with her chain scythe form. You can catch the full episode on their channel, but, thanks to Assistant Blacksmith Bryan Forrest, we got some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage just for our FUNimation viewers.
Be sure to watch until the end for an epic battle cry from Master Blacksmith Tony Swatton.
