FUNimation Show Livestream on 9/18

LIVESTREAM

You may recall a few weeks ago we asked if fans would be interested in a FUNimation Show Livestream. We did these regularly last year, but lately our schedules have gotten so full that we just haven’t had time to do one in a while.

So, we’re bringing it back! Tune in on Thursday 9/18 at 7pm CT/ 8pm ET for a FUNimation Show Livestream! Check out the event below:

Post your questions in the comments below and we might just read them live!

You can also post your questions on our official Facebook page, or Tweet your questions to @FUNimationShow using #TFSLivestream.

You’ll be able to catch the livestream via our YouTube channel at youtube.com/FUNimation, or via Twitch at twitch.tv/FUNimation.

The Most Epic ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

You’ve no doubt seen these ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos, and now our time has come. Recently, Voice Actor Todd Haberkorn challenged FUNimation, giving us a great opportunity to raise awareness for ALS. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”, is a serious disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Make your donations and help treat and cure ALS today on www.ALSA.org.

FUNimation has already made a donation, but we went ahead and created an ice bucket video anyway – in the most epic way possible. As the challenge goes, we’re nominating our pals at VIZ MEDIA, Aniplex USA, Sentai Filmworks, and Crunchyroll.

Take a look at the video below:

Food, Fans, and Fun in San Francisco

Last year, our friends at Japan Video invited us to attend the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival® to get some amazing footage for The FUNimation Show. This year’s event will be held on Saturday and Sunday April 12-13 and April 19-20, 2014. It’s free to join in on the festivities celebrating Japanese and Japanese American culture in San Francisco’s Japantown!

San Francisco’s Japantown is also the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States, so you know you’ll have an authentic experience. Never been to a cherry blossom festival before? Check out our latest FUNimation Show Quickie to see what it’s all about.

Man at Arms Makes Tsubaki!

Complete Series
on Blu-ray

Our friends over at The Sword and the Stone just launched another episode of Man at Arms on their AWE me YouTube channel. The Burbank-based blacksmith shop famous for weapons featured in movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, and Blade created Edward Elric’s dragon spear in a previous episode. This time they’ve delved into the world of Soul Eater by making Tsubaki! Sorry guys, they couldn’t make her human form without breaking some cloning laws so you’ll have to settle with her chain scythe form. You can catch the full episode on their channel, but, thanks to Assistant Blacksmith Bryan Forrest, we got some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage just for our FUNimation viewers.  ;)

Be sure to watch until the end for an epic battle cry from Master Blacksmith Tony Swatton.
