Giant Ape Media acquires extended rights for hit cable series LOST GIRL

lost girl bo season 5Flower Mound, TX – July 24, 2014 – Giant Ape Media announced today that it has extended the Blu-ray & DVD, DTO/DTR/EST, (and via digital carriers) PPV and VOD rights to the hit series, Lost Girl. The series is currently in production for season 5.

 

Series synopsis:

 

When we last saw the supernatural seductress Bo (Anna Silk: Being Erica; Billable Hours), she and her allies had been caught up in a fierce battle for the fate of the world. Her mysterious, long-absent father, turns his daughter into the Dark Queen in his ploy to escape from hell.  Bo’s allies—both Fae and human—manage to fight back his army of undead revenants, but only at the great loss of one of their own.

 

Lost Girl was developed by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase. Executive producers are Jay Firestone, Vanessa Piazza, and Michael Grassi.

FUNimation heads back to California for San Diego Comic-Con!

We just left California and now we’re heading back again, this time for San Diego Comic-Con International! After the whirlwind of activity that was Anime Expo, Comic-Con is going to be super chill and relaxed–kind of like the city itself! Psycho-Pass Key

First up, we have picked up simulcast and home video rights for the PSYCHO-PASS Extended Edition, and it will be joining our summer 2014 season. The first episode will launch on Thursday 7/10 at 12:40pm CT and will stream weekly on Thursdays at 12:20pm CT on funimation.com/psycho-pass.

The Extended Edition of this sci-fi thriller features all new footage that takes you deeper into a world where justice is dispensed from the barrel of a gun. A Certain Magical Home Video Update

As you know, A Certain Scientific Railgun S, Part One is available now. Click here to get your copy. We’re also pleased to announce that the A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series are coming to Blu-ray! You can expect A Certain Magical Index (Season 1) on Blu-ray/DVD Combo in late fall, and A Certain Scientific Railgun (Season 1) in winter.

 

Not only that, but A Certain Magical Index II, Part One will be released on Blu-ray/DVD Combo this October. Part Two and the movie, The Miracle of Endymion, will be releasing in late fall/early winter respectively.

 

We know that this has been something that Raildex fans have asked for for a long time, and we’re thrilled that we can finally make this happen! So, are you excited to get the franchise in HD?

 

 

HAL – Seven Minute Preview

 

HAL releases on BD/DVD Combo on 9/2. We’re giving you a little sneak peek and showing you the first 7 minutes of the movie!

FUNimation Aquires TOKYO GHOUL

Flower Mound, TX – (06/07/14) – FUNimation Entertainment® announced today that it has acquired the simulcast and home video rights to the complete anime series, Tokyo Ghoul.  Based on the manga series by Sui Ishida from Studio Pierrot – the studio that brought you Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho – the series is directed by Shuhei Morita who received an Oscar-nomination at the 86th Academy Awards for his short film, Possessions.

 

The title will simulcast in July on FUNimation.com.

 

Synopsis:

 

In modern day Tokyo, society lives in fear of Ghouls: mysterious creatures that look exactly like humans, yet hunger insatiably for their flesh. None of this matters to Ken Kaneki, a bookish and ordinary young man, until a dark and violent encounter turns him into the first ever Ghoul-human half-breed.
