Gotta say as cool as this news is, I'm a bit worried about this, especially since FUNimation pushed it all the way back to Spring 2013. InuYasha Final Act took an entire two and a half years to dub 26 episodes. If FUNimation is forced to delay the release again, it'll be the final sign to me that Ocean is done dubbing anime. At that point, if even 5 episodes is too much for them to do in a timely manner no distributor will ever want to work with them again even if it's a continuation of a show they did before.
Funimation seems to be running into delays for a couple of their shows. Shana was rescheduled as well as some other shows that I can no longer remember. Just as long as it comes out I don't really care. Already read the Manga and judging from that and how the first couple of seasons where done it should be epic.
Did Funi ever say why they delayed Black Lagoon from 11/13 to 12/4? It got me interested that maybe they would include the OVAs but there hasn't been any mention. Would be nice, but again I am doubting that is the reason..just only one could wish, you know.
How could that be the final sign to me that Ocean is done dubbing anime. The only other company that could outsource their dubs to them is Aniplex of America
My only assumption as to why the english dub has yet to be released is that it was quite a while between the production of season two and RBT. If Funimation does not have all the cast/crew to voice the characters it wouldn't be as beneficial to create such a thing. Revy has a quite unique voice and Im pretty sure that if they used anyone else to voice her or many of the other main characters the production would probably bomb big time. As fans Im sure we're all aware of our strong dislike for a big change in the world of or favorite shows. I can most likely assume the producers have a strong understanding of that as well. We may be out of luck. But it never hurts to hope for the best and wait patiently. Might have something to do with the change in direction for this season and the length of time between this one and the last one. But Im assuming. Ive done little research into this so for those more educated in this matter, may you please assist into the education of those like myself who are just assuming things. I'm unhappy there is no english dub, this happens to be one of my favorite anime.
Original cast, they did a great job on the first 2 seasons. Wouldn't be quite the same without them.
From other posts on this forum it sounds like that is what Funi is going to do and is possible why it is taking so long for the show to come out. Although I guest the Japanese company is also going through a merger which might be causing delays as well.
Looking forward to this show. Heck I'll even take new actors for the dub as long as it comes out.
This Information is Amazing! Been dreaming of this and worrying about it at the same time!
Just one question..who is Opn01?

You're assuming the delay was with Ocean, not Viz or the Japanese license holders.

What would you rather have, the original cast or in-house

Agreed. No one wants to suffer another Shana again with Black Lagoon
