The reason why it's taking so long fot Roberta's Blood Trail to get released in the US is because of the merger red tape between a company that was owned by one media giant (Dentsu) and another media giant (NBCUniversal), which would postone the release of Roberta's Blood Trail, alongside with other re-releases of Geneon USA titles that were produced by Geneon Japan (Hellsing (TV Series & OVA V-VII), Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei, Shakugan no Shana Second and onwards, etc.). Besides, will the casts from Black Lagoon seasons 1&2 and Shakugan no Shana season 1 be reprising their roles for Roberta's Blood Trail and Shakugan no Shana Second & onwards, respectively.
Okay, funi says that the geneon merger is taking a bit. but is there anyway to find out when that would be completed. also, has there been any news on any of the geneon titles at the more recent cons that happened this month?
Well, it's November now, and I haven't heard any news. Will they hopefully make some sort of announcement before this year is up? I NEED to own this series on blu ray with the English dub.
I don't understand the hold-up. At Otakon 2 years ago they played "Roberta's Blood Trail". The technician accidentally set it up to play the English dub before switching to Japanese with English subs. The imdb for the voice actors all list "Roberta's Blood Trail" in their resumes. It is available in Japan right now (without the English dub). Why has this not yet been released? I'd buy the blu-ray box set right now at full list retail if it were available.
HOLY CRAP WHAT IS TAKING THEM SO LONG TO DUB THIS THING FOR US! I am about to give in finally and watch the sub version this is driving me nutz. If this came out in English dub i would buy all three seasons on blue ray tomorrow.They know they will make lot of money on this what are they waiting for?
I just hate the fact Funimation always re-casted any anime that was previously licensed by Geneon or any other companies. And they better keep the original cast.
