I don't really see the "suppressed sexual feelings" that Sebastian and Ciel have for each other that most others seems to see. To me, it seems more like they're suppressing their their urges to kill/torture each other. And not always succeeding.
But hey, everyone has their own interpretation.
Wow, intense website there in UK, they did a real psychological analysis of the Ciel/Sebastian relationship, more direct than all the fangirl stuff on Youtube and here. I'm new here. SereneChaos, don't know if you're male or female, but I think you need to be female to fully appreciate the subtle romance/sexualality between Sebby and Ciel. Maybe it could be just platonic love, but there is some kind of mutual affection between them deep under the surface of the sometimes abusive master/servant relationship. I think Ciel often lashes out at Sebastian in denial of feelings of affection and Sebastian seems to enjoy taking care of the kid, bathing him, buttoning his shirt, etc and often looks at him w/ what fangirls think is lust, his "rape face", but you could interperate it as extreme hunger. they have a true love/hate relationship which seems to have more deeply buried love in it as time goes by.
Nope, I'm female. And for the record, I'm not a yaoi fan, but I do like a few yaoi pairings. Ciel and Sebastian care for each other in some way, but I don't see them caring very much. Neither would be devastated if the other were to die or disappear or something. Their plans might get set back, but emotionally it wouldn't be much of a problem. In my interpretation, Sebastian looks at Ciel as a meal and some entertainment before moving on to the next soul and Ciel sees him as the ultimate chess piece who will win him any game. I don't see it as sexual at all (especial since Ciel's only 13). It seems more like relationship between business partners.
this is what makes it such an interesting show - that people can see their relationship in so many different ways: business partners, simple master/servant, platonic friends, potential enemies forced to work together, traditional love/hate, or antagonistic love/lust on Sebastian's part w/ a little platonic affection on Ciel's part, as he is a non-sexual 13 y/o so far. J. Michael Tatum even said the kid was looking for/creating kind of a protector/father figure which Sebastian has kind of been in a more subserviant way than a father of course.
I haven't watched series 2 yet, but in #1, their relationship is the beauty of Black Butler
