the ending

Definitely displeased. You really do need to feel sorry for Sebastian, who went through all those bitch slaps for nothing. What makes it worse is that Ciel was willing to fulfill his bargain, just as Sebastian deserved to take it--all spoiled because of Alois, who gets the happy ending!!
I liked it, largely because I wasn't expecting it at all. Clause and Aloise both need someone to cut their throats, but it was very much against the anticipated ending. What disappointed me was that the second season started off as looking like an alternate time-line somehow, not a memory gap. I think that would have been a very interesting plot.
It wasn't expecting it at all but I was rather disappointed in the ending. More of the fact that Sebastion will never be able to fulfil his contract and will always be tied to Ciel from now on. It just bugs me from a future plot perspecitive because it limits what they can do.
I know it is unlikely they would make a third season but if Sebastion was able to fulfil his contract they could have explored the whole area of what Sebastion is. List to the commentary in the first season and you'll know what I am talking about. How in some episodes when people view him they see him differently (generally as something incredibly scary) and there is the think that he look like Ciel's father but it never goes into if that is because he has the contract with Ciel or just a coincidence.
I don't think that it's a coincidence at all. Theoretically, as Ciel gave Sebastian his name, he would also have determined his appearance. It's logical that he would want Sebastian to look like his father, if only to remind him why he made the contract.
xmas break is finally here, so got caught up and watched all of the anime, finally, and yes, I am disapointed in the ending. I knew Ciel was going to become a demon, but at such a horrible price to Sebastian. So unfair - the demon put up w/ all that abuse, 3 1/2 years of demanding work for the kid and he gets eternal slavery as a reward and no food. Seems like Ciel was kind of breaking contract, it could be argued. Even the very ending, they were apparently going to Hell when the immediate priority for both of them should be to get food (souls). Sebastian must be starving by now.
I agree - it was awful. Poor Sebastian, despite my dislike for him.
Even outside of that the ending seems like it was thought up to avoid angry fans crying, "You killed Ciel, you MONSTERS!". Poorly thought out, confusing, and awkward - or at least as it came across to me.
