Who else was completely and utterly shocked and taken aback by that?
I was surprised, but found it kind of awesome. He is a demon after all. The scene did seem a little out of place, though.
Maybe the director wanted the show to be more shocking and geared more towards men. It already had way more action than the manga by that point.
I found the flirting with all the nuns to be hysterical - and fitting, since he's a demon - but I had kind of been under the impression that demons and angels could've have sexual relations with humans, and then BAM!
Sebastian just didn't seem like the kind of person who would just do that, but he did turn out to have an ulterior motive for doing so. (I had a friend who is practically an expert on demonology who was telling me exactly what was happening when I was too confused by how little is actually explained in the show.)
It was hilarious. I don't think it was shocking, and I don't see how it would make the show more "geared towards men". (Unless you think females are all offended by sexual things and would never enjoy that, in which case you need a reality check).
Also if you thought that momentary comedic scene was shocking... you'll be in for quite a shock with the second season. There's a reason they call Alois and Ciel the male Panty and Stocking (which is another great show you should avoid if the nun scene shocked you).
I've already seen all of Black Butler II and I adored it so - it just seemed to be really part of Alois's character to be like that, especially with what happens to him in the "flashback to explain who Alois actually is" episode. It was simply the fact that it was Sebastian who was involved was what shocked me.
You know she wasn't a nun just a member of the cult... so really he didn't sex up a nun as you say...he just had sex with someone in the cult.

Then i realized he had NO feelings for the nun and just wanted info on the case and then i was like 
I was dumb to think that sebastian actually liked that sick chick DX Doesnt she know who's man she's messing with? You mess with the Earl's man....you gonna get burned

I wasn't very surprised because (manga chapter 29 spoilers)
I could not stop laughing, not only at Sebastain flirting with all the nuns but when Grell heard all that going on he got so mad but Sebastian seems like he would do absolutly anything to fulfill his masters wishes.
I was surprised by it, but loved it at the same time. That actually is one of my favorite episodes, Grell and Ciel's reactions were priceless, and Sebastian seemed to be hating every second of it which I found funny.
