Not trying to bash the anime, but the manga is a lot better. The two deviate after the first official tournament, when Tama-chan faces Konishi, the cheating Kendo fighter. They don't really go into Konishi's back story, which is short but important. At that point they caught up with the manga, so they made their own story arc. It wasn't bad, but it was so far removed from manga canon that it really isn't possible for them to reconcile the two. They'd pretty much have to go with another original arc if they wanted to bridge the gap, and at that point it wouldn't really be Bamboo Blade at all.
There is no second season of Bamboo Blade.
It has been over 4 years since the show ended, so the chances of another season are very low.
