One thing i know about anime fans is that they fued over who can defeat who, the one i live through everyday is Naruto VS Ichigo I think Naruto would win my friend thinks Ichigo.
So who do you think is the strongest anime character and who can he/she defeat. Out of the anime i watched i think Naruto is the strongest but just watch on how many people will disagree, And im sure there is an anime character i dont know who can defeat Naruto.
Really this is an impossible question as unlike with U.S./E.U comics & media simmilar to this, these characters don't exsist (for the most part) in the same world or universe, many anime heros come from diffrent worlds with diffrent rules and diffrent ways/styles of gauging power. So where one hero or villian may be the strongest, in another shows world he could be the weakest. But yeah I guess for the sake of Simplifying things...out of pure bad arsery I would say the strongest characters in anime would be..
Goku (DragonBall/DBZ/GT)
Goku is the premire template for a shonen hero, and basically Japan's equivlant to Superman, so yeah pretty much one of the toughest Anime characters ever made IMPO
Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star.)
He can make Peoples heads explode by only using his pinkie.....thats...thats...pretty cool, lol.
As for your whole Ichigo VS Naruto thing...well.....doesn't matter...they'd both Get killed by Yuske Yurameshi (YuYu Hakusho), lol.

If I were trolling, I'd say that the strongest to weakest chart looks a little like this:
Everyone in DBZ > Everyone else.
But in all seriousness I never understood the whole "Who vs Who" in anime, mostly because it's really hard to actually determine that sort of thing, mostly because you have an insanely wide variety of things being brought to the table from many different genres.
For example, post-time skip Monkey D. Luffy, with his control of Haki and wide array of combat skills, could probably whoop the crap out of both Naruto or Ichigo in a straight-up, one-on-one fight but would get roflstomped by Alucard because Luffy lacks silver gear, holy water and vampire hunting experience in general. In that same way, Alucard would be hopelessly outmatched by every Gundam pilot ever as they shoot him to death from space. Okay, most of them would have to be on the planet but still.
I admit that there are some inaccuracies in my example, but it illustrates my point enough.

I agree that alot of anime characters would be considered insanely strong in their own anime but in another they would be weak on that i agree. i also think naruto would give luffy a good fight

Im going to go way out on a limb and say Belldandy from o my goddess she was able to reconstruct reality by using her full power which was really only 1/1000000 of it don't doubt her just because shes from a romance show shes about stronger any character i can think of including those from dbz.

id probably have to go with Heero Yuy sitting in the Wing Zero.
like LordoftheFros said people in gundams can just blast you from space, and lets face it the buster rifle on the Wing Zero is one of the most powerful weapons you can give a gundam(if not the most powerful). Plus he can partially see into the future with the Wing Zero so he would be able to see any attacks coming.
However since the Wing Zero was destroyed id have to go with Lelouch vi Britannia as option two. Hed just look anyone straight in the eye and tell them kill themselves and theyd do it.
